The M.S. in Interior Architecture is a 49 or 69-credit graduate program structured to meet the needs of students from both non-design, design and architecture backgrounds seeking one of the best professional-level education in interior design/interior architecture. The program offers up to one year of advanced standing for those already in the field who are interested in refining their knowledge and skills at the graduate level. This program prepares students to reach their full potential, whether seeking an introduction or building on previous experience.

As an Interior Architecture program, we emphasize how the interior environment encompasses all parts of the interior volume and acknowledges the intersection between architecture and interiors. The curriculum integrates theory with the technical skills needed for practical application and immerses students in current technologies and sustainable practice as they work collaboratively and think critically to discover innovative solutions. Jefferson’s campus is positioned minutes from downtown, offering networking and employment opportunities within the city’s thriving architecture industry. Our faculty of practicing professionals provides many advantages and a range of real-world experiences. Graduates are well-prepared to sit for the NCIDQ exam and to join professional organizations such as ASID and IIDA, and to work for firms in all areas of the profession, including residential, commercial, corporate, healthcare, hospitality and education.

Thomas Jefferson University and The Center for Forensic Science Research & Education (The Center) have collaborated to offer the MS program in Forensic Toxicology. This is a unique program designed to position students for advancement and professional development in the specific field of forensic toxicology.

This is a full-time, two year program with courses taught at both the  Jefferson - Center City campus and The Center's Willow Grove, PA location.

This partnership will provide our students with expertise in all areas of toxicology, including:

• Workplace drug testing
• Post mortem analysis
• Human performance toxicology
• Legal procedure and ethics
• Business & management coursework

The Program also gives students essential, hands-on training through the Center's internship program, provided at their state-of-the-art facility in Willow Grove, PA. This practicum immerses students in mock casework samples and provides them with experience in drug and toxin detection and extraction, quantification, instrumental analysis and data interpretation and report writing. The Program culminates in moot court experiences.

The Master of Science in Microbiology & Immunology Program offers choices for career specialization with flexible schedules, professional training for academic credit and academic preparation for national professional certification.

The broad-based curriculum includes a minimum of 40 credits. Course content includes:

• The biology of microorganisms

• Pathology
• Biostatistics
• Management
• Clerkship

Master's research thesis or, alternatively, a Non-Thesis Option
The program may be completed on a part-time or accelerated (coursework) schedule over a period of 1.5 to four years. Courses are offered late afternoon/early evening and meet once per week, allowing students the flexibility to work while taking classes or devote their full attention to their studies. The Master of Science degree in Construction Management (MSCM), a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) program, is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to plan and manage each phase of the construction process as applied to complex commercial, infrastructure and residential building projects. The mission of the program is to provide students with a broad practice–oriented understanding of construction technology, business, architecture, and engineering, with specific emphasis on the management of the construction process from project inception to close-out. Courses within the program are designed to prepare graduates to excel in leadership positions, with a focus on building quality projects, safely, on time, within budget, and to customer expectations.

Hands-on activities allow students to learn and excel in construction-related activities and software applications. Classes are offered in an on campus (day and evening), hybrid, and/or online version to allow students to have the flexibility of planning their schedules and continuing to work in their jobs.

The Master of Science in Clinical Research was created to prepare students for the wide array of career opportunities in the clinical research industry. This program is well suited for career changers with a background in life, physical or clinical sciences that would like to break into the field of clinical research. It is also appropriate for individuals already in the industry and looking for additional graduate-level training.

The field of clinical research is rapidly expanding and knowledgeable professionals are needed to coordinate, manage, and administer clinical trials. This master of science degree will provide students with the foundation needed to be successful in the field of clinical research.

Students completing the MS in Clinical Research will:

• Understand the experimental design, statistical analysis and interpretation, and regulatory and ethical issues pertaining to human clinical research and trials.
• Be able to read, understand, and critique published reports of clinical trials.
• Acquire management skills that will enable them to successfully manage multi-disciplinary teams involved in clinical research projects.
• Be prepared for employment in the pharmaceutical industry, as well as academic and hospital clinical research settings.

Vascular sonographers or vascular (vascular ultrasound) technologists use sophisticated diagnostic ultrasound imaging machines and transducers that use high-frequency sound waves to produce dynamic visual images, to record:

• Vascular blood flow
• Blood pressure
• Limb volume changes
• Oxygen saturation
• Cerebral circulation
• Peripheral circulation
• Abdominal circulation

They also assist physicians in diagnosing disorders of the vascular system and acquire information related to blood vessel anatomy and physiology: cerebral, peripheral and abdominal circulation.

Vascular sonographers work directly with healthy and critically ill inpatients and outpatients of adult and geriatric ages, performing predominantly noninvasive procedures in small, low-lit rooms. They stand or sit beside the patient, who is on a stretcher, exam table or wheelchair. Sometimes the vascular sonographer will transport a portable ultrasound to a patient's room and perform the test there.

The four-year Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies (B.S.) program allows students to focus on a field allied to the profession of architecture. After common first-year studios that lay the foundation for visual thinking, students will select two minors based upon their areas of academic and professional interest. The College of Architecture and the Built Environment offers an array of minors that allow Architectural Studies students to customize their education and earn a degree with a pre-professional design emphasis with a liberal arts focus. Opportunities exist for collaborative studios, fieldwork, study abroad options, professional internships and elective offerings.

Contemporary architecture encompasses a number of discrete, though intersecting, disciplines and requires individuals trained to fill a variety of roles beyond that of designer. The College of Architecture and the Built Environment offers an array of minors to allow students to customize their education and earn a degree with a pre-professional design emphasis and a liberal arts focus. Options range from areas that are intrinsic to making and constructing buildings and environments, such as building technology, to fields that support the rehabilitation and documentation of architecture and sites, such as historic preservation.

Ranked 7th in the U.S. and 4th in the East by DesignIntelligence, the M.S. in Industrial Design is a professional program based on interdisciplinary project work. In this program, you will learn to design effectively at the collaborative and chaotic “front end” of the product-development process. You will work with product users, researchers, businesspeople, engineers and manufacturers to create products and systems that are better at serving their users, societies and the world at large.

We like busy people, because busy people are ambitious, curious people. Many of our courses are taught in the afternoon and evening, to allow flexible scheduling for students who have outside obligations.

The M.S. in Industrial Design will prepare you for entrepreneurial work in the field, or for a position in a corporate design department or design consulting firm.
