Our MIS students are extraordinarily well-prepared for work in the information systems field. MIS students are expected to have three areas of distinct competency: business knowledge, technical skills and interpersonal skills.

Our Master of Arts in Mathematics provides an opportunity to pursue advanced study in mathematics and develop the skills to help lead you to success in today's technologically oriented society. Whether the goal involves applying mathematics to solve problems in business and industry, teaching in higher education, preparing for further graduate study in mathematics or related fields, or working in a rapidly the growing field of big data analysis as a statistician, this program enables each student to pursue a course of study that is appropriate for their interests.

To address these varying interests, we offer three concentrations: Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Statistics.

Accounting Concentration

An MBA Concentration in Accounting is an ideal option for those that want a career that draws on their quantitative strengths and detail-oriented skill sets along with working on cyclical and special projects involving advising, problem-solving, management and planning. Explore preparing and using financial reporting statements, mastering budgeting processes and operational planning, and advanced accounting principles that are crucial for careers in roles such as CPA, tax manager, budget analyst, or auditing manager. Accounting talent is in demand across diverse industries such as insurance, healthcare, or information technology, as well as in the public sector, serving accounting or financial management functions in nonprofit or government. Long term career goals might include positions such as chief financial officer, financial analyst, or financial manager.

The Bachelor of Science in Public Health and Wellness (formerly Community Health) prepares graduates for a wide range of careers in public health, community health, wellness and health promotion.  The curriculum includes courses in the areas of health program planning, implementation and evaluation;  wellness coaching, stress management  and behavior change; and nutrition and exercise science.  Relevant current issues related to social justice, global and environmental sustainability and addressing worldwide pandemic threats are also explored.

The Rowan University Chemical Engineering Program is a student-centered, primarily undergraduate program that incorporates leading-edge educational methods and technology with engineering practice. We prepare students for careers in the global chemical process industry and related fields, and for advanced degree study. Our program provides students with a strong foundation in chemical engineering science and design, and emphasizes the development of effective communication and teaming skills, and professional responsibility in preparation for a career in a diverse global workforce. Throughout the curriculum, students are exposed to chemical engineering methods using hands-on, state-of-the-art experiments, modern computer tools, and problem synthesis and solution approaches. The Chemical Engineering Program is committed to technical excellence, professional responsibility, and lifelong learning.

The Management degree prepares students for meaningful positions in management by providing them with a foundation for career growth. The management program is designed to provide a strong foundation in both traditional and innovative management skills in the areas of leading and supervising others, communicating clearly, and being able to analyze and solve organizational problems using both quantitative and qualitative information. It includes traditional classroom instruction, simulations, "real world" internships, lectures by management practitioners and working with academic advisors to develop and implement a course of study which meets each student's individual needs.

Students enrolled in the management program are expected:

• To learn important concepts, skills and techniques focused on leading and supervising other workers
• To be able to collect and evaluate relevant information - ethical, quantitative and qualitative - necessary to solve organizational problems;
• To use critical thinking skills to design and implement solutions for organizational problems
• To improve their oral and written communication skills
• And to build their knowledge of how to design effective workplace teams.

The undergraduate Law and Justice Studies program provides an interdisciplinary approach to the study of crime, the function of criminal law and the criminal justice system. The program focuses on preparing students for professional careers in the major areas of law enforcement and security services, court services, corrections and human services by combining academically challenging coursework with practical work experience through internships. The program provides the rigorous preparation necessary for students who wish to continue their education at the graduate level.

Our M.S. in Computer Science provides a higher level of understanding in computational science and its application to a variety of fields, including education, industry, research, business and government. As a student, you have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of advanced topics to tailor their coursework to meet your career and personal goals. Project-intensive courses provide hands-on experience with popular technologies such as game design, robotics and computer graphics.

A  full range of theatre and dance production opportunities complements coursework and allows students to develop performance and production skills by creating live theatre.  All students may participate in the department's annual faculty-directed mainstage and/or student productions. These projects provide students with practical experience as performers, directors, designers and technicians, and enhances skills learned in the classroom.

Concentration in Musical Theatre
Become a well-rounded theater performer, not just a voice in a chorus. Meet with a private vocal instructor every semester for intensive singing lessons to best prepare you for auditions.

Unlike traditional programs, you will develop skills in all aspects of performance and overlap with Dance, Acting, and Design/Tech majors. Learn about acting, script analysis, movement, dance, improvisation, literature and musical theater history.
