The Master of Applied Mathematics program at Auburn University offers flexibility, expert faculty, and mentorship opportunities. In addition to building a strong foundation in a fundamental area of applied mathematics, you’ll also be able to customize your studies to best match your interests. This means you can specialize in a particular area and prepare for your career, under the mentorship of internationally recognized faculty.

Our major in animal sciences (ANSC) will prepare you for a career in veterinary medicine, medicine, equine science, food safety, animal and allied industries and related areas. The program is also excellent preparation for graduate studies in fields such as animal nutrition, biochemistry and molecular biology, microbiology, growth biology, meat science and muscle biology, breeding and genetics, and reproductive biology.

The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design is a flexible, multi-disciplinary degree. The degree content includes:

• Five core environmental design courses
• Directed electives
• Free electives

Students are encouraged to use the free electives to earn one or two minors.

Two summers of coursework are required for the environmental design workshop series. The degree is a good option for students who are interested in pursuing graduate studies in design, planning, and construction-related programs.

The Bachelor of Science degree in Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies program will equip students with the comprehensive knowledge and practical skills to succeed in philanthropic endeavors. In class, students will learn how to build solid personal and organizational financial foundations to support philanthropic projects and lead nonprofit enterprises. Course subjects include: collegiate consuming and giving, nonprofit studies, portfolio development, nonprofit law and governance, and gender, wealth and philanthropy.

Auburn's NASAD accredited Bachelor of Industrial Design Program is ranked in the top ten nationally and is known for product innovations, point of purchase design, marketing design, commercial environments and branding. Industry-sponsored collaborations and international experience are core strength of this nine-semester program which leads to a Bachelor of Industrial Design degree.

Our Department of Horticulture has been recognized nationally for its research programs, its student-centered faculty members and its high rate of employment for graduates. As a horticulture major, you’ll learn how to establish, propagate, harvest and manage fruits, vegetables and ornamental plants. You’ll also learn the principles of landscape design to create and manage aesthetically pleasing environments.

Emphasis in Fruit and Vegetable Production
As a student in our horticulture fruit and vegetable production major option, you will find many opportunities to support fruit and vegetable production, including cooperative extension, research with private companies and government agencies such as the USDA-ARS, and marketing.

With a growing emphasis on preventative health care and interest in health, wellness and improved quality of life among consumers and employers, Auburn University's degree option in Nutrition and Wellness is designed to prepare students for successful career entry into the broad health and wellness professions. We live in a world of global human issues, rapidly advancing technologies, and information that changes just as fast as we can consume it. For future interior designers this means that, more than anything else, they must develop skills in critical and creative thinking. An emerging professional who can find and organize information, critically analyze aspects of a problem, and develop creative and practical solutions can excel in design-related fields.

But at the core of it all, design is still people-centered and designers must understand how to relate to people, uncover their needs, and shape the environment to enhance quality of life.

Our Environmental Science major program is an interdisciplinary degree, incorporating studies such as soil science, physics, chemistry, biology and geology. Environmental solutions also frequently require mathematical expertise as well as specific knowledge of air, water and soil environments. Thus, the program is structured to educate environmental scientists broadly, but with considerable depth and flexibility.
