The Department offers the Organismal Biology major leading to the Bachelor of Science degree.  The curricula for this major is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in biology as well as providing the opportunity for specialization. This program also provides a strong preparation for further study in graduate programs or in professional schools, including medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine and other allied health fields.

A Bachelor of Arts in French broadens your understanding of society through cultural exchange in French and provides you with communication skills, linguistic dexterity, critical thinking, and cultural awareness. Auburn's anthropology program features four sub-fields: sociocultural anthropology (how people in different places live and understand the world around them), archaeology (material evidence of how societies change over time), biological anthropology (human variation, evolution, and adaptation to the environment), and linguistics (relationship between language and culture). With a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology, you'll be able to apply your knowledge to global issues outside of the classroom in areas such as social and environmental policy, medical anthropology, forensic anthropology, museum studies, cultural resource management, and historic preservation. Each of the four subfields of anthropology can be applied to solve real world problems.

Our Bachelor of Fine Arts in theatre design and technology offers a practical foundation in all areas of theater production, including lighting, sound, costume design, technical direction, and construction. You’ll have opportunities to apply new technical and conceptual knowledge in hands-on production work. You’ll work with national and international guest artists as well as travel nationally and internationally to attend workshops and exhibitions.

The Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering provides students an opportunity to use scientific principles and engineering concepts and practices to design, build, test and operate aerospace, aviation and aeronautical systems and vehicles, including involvement in the design, development and production of vehicles for flight, both in and beyond the atmosphere.

Today’s consumers want the news in every form—on their phone, in a podcast, through social media, on television. With a Bachelor of Arts in journalism, you’ll learn how to research and report news and information across all platforms, both digital and traditional. You can specialize in broadcast, community, digital technology, entrepreneurial/business, health and science, investigative, magazine, sports, or visual journalism. And you’ll receive additional hands-on practical experience when you work at the student newspaper, television station, radio station, magazine, or yearbook.

The Department of Aerospace Engineering offers both a thesis and non-thesis Master of Science, which provide students an opportunity to sharpen their skills in aerospace system design, development, manufacturing, maintenance, and operation. Those who earn the degree will have a competitive advantage among industry and government employers

Our Environmental Science major program is an interdisciplinary degree, incorporating studies such as soil science, physics, chemistry, biology and geology. Environmental solutions also frequently require mathematical expertise as well as specific knowledge of air, water and soil environments. Thus, the program is structured to educate environmental scientists broadly, but with considerable depth and flexibility.

The Department of Human Development and Family Science (HDFS) prepares undergraduate students for a variety of exciting and challenging career opportunities including: preschool teaching; administering programs for young children, adolescents, and adults; parent education; mental health services; child advocacy; and cooperative extension. Senior HDFS interns have been placed in outstanding work settings throughout the United States such as Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital, the Children's Television Workshop/Sesame Street, Walt Disney World, and the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Interns have also been placed in many local schools, counseling centers, social service agencies, court systems, and assisted living facilities for seniors.
