The 36 to 63-credit Master’s of Business Administration (number of credits is based on your undergraduate coursework) provides the knowledge base and skills that enable professionals to become leaders in business by offering a comprehensive program which meets the needs of an ever-changing, global business environment. The program is offered on a part-time basis during the evenings and weekends with 15- and 7-week semesters, to accommodate the schedules of busy working professionals who are interested in advancing their careers.  The School of Nursing offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing preparing new nurses through two tracks:

• Full-time day track
• Accelerated 2nd-degree track—a 16-month program for students who already hold a baccalaureate degree in another field. This track offers admission in the Summer, Spring, and Fall. 
• Integrate knowledge from the liberal arts and sciences when providing professional nursing care to diverse individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations throughout the life span and across the continuum of healthcare settings.
• Identify principles of leadership and management for quality improvement and patient safety to the delivery of high quality professional nursing care within current cultural, economic, organizational, and political perspectives.
• Integrate evidence-based best practices into professional nursing practice to improve patient outcomes.

The mission of the Master of Social Work (MSW) Program at Long Island University is to educate and train professional social work practitioners who are well grounded in the profession’s history, purpose, and philosophy and who can competently and effectively work with diverse populations of clients and client systems in the richness of the New York City and beyond. Integral to competent practice is the ability to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration. Our MSW program provides a step-wise progression to support student understanding of generalist and specialized social work practice. The generalist practice curriculum includes content in the foundation areas of social work: policy, practice, human behavior, research, diversity, professional values, and promotion of social justice, and applied through a field education experience.

The advanced year curriculum deepens the student’s understanding and demonstrated mastery of psychosocial assessment, administrative theory and practice, and diversity sensitive practice. Public health is the science and art of protecting and improving the health of communities (families, neighborhoods, groups of people) and the population as a whole. Every day, millions of people suffer from preventable injuries, illnesses, and chronic diseases resulting in impaired quality of life and premature death. The goal of Public Health professionals is to help prevent disease, disability, and premature death. The vision of the Public Health movement is health for all and healthy people in healthy communities. Teams of Public Health professionals from a variety of backgrounds use strategies such as: policy, system/service, and built-environment changes, education, promotion of healthy lifestyles, and research.

The Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies curriculum integrates classroom learning with real-world experience from day one, emphasizing development of global leadership skills. Central to the program are requirements that students reside in Costa Rica, Spain, Italy, China, Australia, and a New York-based final capstone semester, where students complete their senior thesis. From these countries, they will travel to Panama, Nicaragua, Morocco, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Turkey, India, Thailand, and Bali. LIU Global students typically complete at least four internships during their study.

Master of Public Administration in Health Administration prepares students for careers in fields that offer numerous professional paths. Students from diverse backgrounds with varying levels of expertise, are taught by faculty members who are current in all of the latest trends and issues in health care administration.

The program of study is flexible and can be tailored to accommodate the professional requirements of the student by offering specialization courses that provide them with the opportunity to examine a specific management function or an area of application in greater depth. Areas of specialization include health care administration, health care management, health care policy and aging/long-term care. Other specializations can be developed in consultation with a faculty advisor from the broad spectrum of courses available through the Program and the School, as well as through courses available across the Campus.

The Program is divided into four parts: an introductory sequence that provides 15 credits of public service sector foundations and skills, followed by 9 credits of focused management topics including human resources, budgeting and financial management, and law and accountability. Students then take 12 credits in an area of specialization and a required six-credit integrative capstone experience, which culminates in a project and a formal presentation.
