Wright State’s excellent facilities include access to constant temperature rooms, coldrooms, darkrooms, animal care facilities, and cell and tissue culture facilities. The equipment includes the latest available technology in fluorescent microscopes, flow cytometry, and mass spectrometers.

You will learn about the human body and how it interfaces with its immune system to battle foreign organisms. Pursue a specialty in areas like immunology, virology, immunotoxicology, DNA and conventional vaccine development, and molecular genetics. Whatever specialty you choose, you can be confident your M.S. from Wright State will open the doors for incredible career opportunities across the globe.

The objective of the accountancy major is to educate students for professional careers in public, industrial, governmental, and not-forprofit accounting. To this end, the program provides a broad educational experience for students and gives them a background for completing professional accounting examinations such as the CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) and CMA (Certified Management Accountant). Accountancy majors may consider a minor in either management information systems or computing and information technology. Contact an advisor in computer science for details on the CIT minor. Students interested in financial management are encouraged to complete a series of accountancy and finance courses designed to prepare them for the CFM (Certified Financial Manager) exam. This major also provides an excellent undergraduate background for a degree in law.

Students who plan to take the CPA (Certified Public Accountant) exam should pursue the Master of Accountancy program upon completion of the bachelor program in order to meet the education requirements of the Accountancy Board of Ohio.

Transfer students who major in accountancy should note that at least 20 credit hours of their accountancy courses must be taken at Wright State.

The department has a chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, the national accountancy honorary fraternity.

The urban affairs major is right for you if you want to make communities better places to live, if you want to fix problems such as vacant housing, decaying infrastructure, access to healthy food, ensuring safe neighborhoods, reducing homelessness, city planning, economic development, and equal education and job opportunities for future generations.

The Urban Affairs program provides students with an appreciation of the urban environment as a complex system and teaches them to approach urban processes from multiple perspectives. The Bachelor of Arts degree places emphasis on the qualitative aspects of public service management. In contrast, the Bachelor of Science degree emphasizes quantitative data analysis.

Statistics is distinct from mathematics as a field of study, yet is founded upon the theory of probability—the mathematics of chance. The Bachelor of Science in Statistics is a degree program emphasizing statistics both as a science unto itself and as a service science, with powerful applications in such disciplines as biology, medicine, sociology, chemistry, agriculture, education, engineering, economics, psychology, and quality control. Graduate from this program, and you should be well qualified for employment in the many corporations and government agencies for which statisticians design experiments, conduct surveys, and analyze data. Also, the Bachelor of Science in Statistics prepares you for graduate study in statistics (or in a science in which statistics plays a decisive role), after which you will have even greater employment possibilities.

You will grasp basic principles of the structure, design, and language of music in its historical and cultural contexts while studying music history and literature at Wright State. You can better understand the music you hear, perform, and create. This major is not a terminal degree, and you should expect to continue at the graduate level. Apply your knowledge of software and programming to your passion.

Our Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science degree gives you the flexibility to incorporate a wide range of interests. You will still focus on software and software systems and also learn how to apply that knowledge.

Program Outcomes
Students who complete the Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science will have an ability to:

• Analyze a complex computing problem and to apply principles of computing and other relevant disciplines to identify solutions.
• Design, implement, and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the program’s discipline.
• Communicate effectively in a variety of professional contexts.

Computer engineers’ research, design, create, manufacture, test, and improve computer systems. The focus of this major is on hardware and the integration of hardware and software.

Program Outcomes
Students who complete the Bachelor of Science in computer engineering will have:

• An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics
• An ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors

• An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts
• An ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives
• An ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions

The Bachelor of Science curriculum in Chemistry approaches students' educational endeavors with a broad, integrated, and in-depth view. Departmental requirements, combined with university core requirements and electives, offer a balanced course load for students. This provides undergraduates with the opportunity to explore where their interests in the science field will lead them. This option combines all the required courses for admission to a professional school, which includes two years of chemistry, one year of physics, one year of mathematics, while utilizing recommended courses as science electives to fulfill the bachelor's requirements. This option allows students the freedom to explore their interests in many of the careers listed

Studying one of the modern languages at Wright State will help you improve your ability to read, write, and speak in another language, study how that language is used in a social context, and become a more enlightened citizen. You will also learn about the history, politics, culture, media, and literature of your chosen country and study their economic and educational systems.

New technologies have increased global opportunities, and studying a modern language prepares you to work with people all over the world. Government and non-governmental agencies have discovered a critical need for college graduates with foreign language skills.
