Law Clerks assist lawyers in such tasks as interviewing clients, conducting legal research, preparing documents, searching real estate and corporate registries, and in preparing cases for trial.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
Your two-year Law Clerk program will provide you with extensive education and training necessary to assist lawyers, and paralegals in both the private and public sector. You will be taught by experts in the legal field. In your first three semesters you are integrated with students in the college’s Paralegal Program. Your education will include such courses as Business and Contract Law, Introduction to Litigation, Legal Research and Writing, Criminal Law, Evidence, Advocacy, Small Claims Law, Practice Management, and Legal Accounting. In your final semester your skills will be further enhanced in the areas of Property Law, Family Law, Wills and Estates, Corporate Law, and Litigation Law.

Museum Management and Curatorship is an intensive, fast-paced, immersion experience that provides applied training for careers in the museum, gallery or heritage sectors. Approximately 75% of classes are held at the Peterborough Museum & Archives.

The third and final semester of the Museum Management and Curatorship program is a challenging, full-time, four-month internship during the spring and summer. This unpaid, curriculum-based internship will give you hands-on work experience where you will put all your hard work and studies into motion. Students should be prepared to relocate for the internship, to pay full tuition, and be self-supporting. You will negotiate your own internship with faculty assistance. Some students have gone abroad for the internship, for example, to Australia, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. The program is divided into three terms.

• After successful completion of the provincial practical requirements at the end of term one, students can apply to write for Oil Burner Technician –Level 3 (OBT-3) and Gas Technician-Level 3 (G-3) certificates of qualification.
• After successful completion of the provincial practical requirements at the end of term three, students can apply to write for Oil Burner Technician –Level 2 (OBT-2) and Gas Technician-Level 2 (G-2) certificates of qualification.

Students are required to attend 80% of all classes in order to write their TSSA Gas and Oil exams.

Gas and Oil Technician –Level 3 (OBT-3 and G-3) deals with workplace safety, tools, characteristics of natural gas and oil, codes/regulations, basic electricity, technical specifications, customer relations, basic piping systems, and an introduction to gas and oil appliances.

Gas and Oil Technician –Level 2 (OBT-2 and G-2) focuses on advanced piping/tubing systems, electricity, controls, systems, appliances, gas meters, pressure regulators, gas and oil -fired refrigerators, conversion burners, water heaters, forced warm air heating systems, hydronic heating systems, space heating, venting practices, forced air add-on devices, and air handling.

Graduates of this program will have an opportunity to obtain industry related health and safety certifications. You will also have Grade 12 Math equivalency.

Occupational Therapist Assistants and Physiotherapist Assistants work with registered occupational therapists and physiotherapists to enable clients to cope with their limitations in movement, daily function, activity and/or occupational performance, whether temporary or permanent.

With ever-increasing numbers of aging people requiring assistance to continue a full life, the need has never been greater for occupational therapists(OTs), physiotherapists (PTs) and their assistants. While a great deal of work these days is with seniors, there's also much to be done with those recovering from surgery, health conditions such as cancer or stroke, and chronic conditions such as arthritis. You can help people get back into their lives - as an Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant.

As an OTA and PTA, you'll help awaken people's physical potential - and learn more about yourself in the process. Throughout the deliberately broad-based four-semester program, you'll learn how to assist clients to achieve their health goals.

Work Experience
Field experience is an integral aspect of the OTA & PTA program and is highly valued by students as they welcome the opportunity to integrate in-class studies with hands-on experience. Students are assigned to a variety of clinical settings throughout second, third and fourth semester. Students, with the assistance of a faculty member, arrange their final eight week culminating clinical experience. Fleming staff is committed to meeting national accreditation standards by ensuring that students accumulate a minimum of 500 clinical hours, with no less than 30% (150) of these hours being in each discipline.

The Developmental Services Worker program (Disability Support) focuses on providing practical and meaningful support to people of all ages with intellectual, physical and learning disabilities to achieve their goals by inspiring, advocating and promoting inclusion.

The Developmental Services Worker program focuses on providing support to people with various intellectual disabilities, such as Down Syndrome, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Traumatic Brain Injury and neurocognitive disorders, learning disabilities and/or physical disabilities. WORK EXPERIENCE
An essential component of your education will include experiential learning through course work as well as field placements. Three supervised field placements provide students with varied practical and networking experience where many students receive job offers. Students will also complete the last portion of their facilitation certificate by creating a Person-Directed Plan with a person they have built a relationship with throughout the program. Students will put theory into practice to help support and provide empowerment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Students also have the option of international placements in their fourth semester; however, this should be discussed with the program coordinator as early as possible (and prior to the end of semester 2) in order to assist in facilitating it.

Throughout the Pre-Health Sciences program, you will learn in a supportive environment and gain hands-on experience in our chemistry and biology labs. The scope of border operations continues to expand as our economy becomes increasingly tied to the global marketplace. As cross border trade exceeds well over one billion dollars a day, our "smart border" needs to efficiently manage the flow of legitimate trade and travellers as we move toward an environment in which the exchange and use of electronic data between countries, and within Canada, becomes a permanent reality. The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) uses its front line law enforcement employees, Border Services Officers (BSOs), to fulfill its roles and responsibilities. The BSOs are trained to function as both a Customs and an Immigration official, depending upon the needs of the port of entry where they are employed. As Canada’s first line of defence, they are also trained and equipped to protect themselves and to ensure our overall safety and well-being.

The Customs Border Services program provides experiential, hands-on learning with real life enforcement tools such as a baggage x-ray machine, travellers’ baggage and a practice automobile, to help prepare you for common enforcement-related activities in the field with the CBSA. This training is also beneficial for the non-enforcement jobs found in the brokerage, consulting, transportation and private (import/export) industries. Throughout this program you will:
