You’ll attend in-class intensive weekend sessions three times each semester, while the balance of course work is completed online. Emergency Management and Business Continuity professionals are trained to prepare for loss of critical business functions. Students in this program may have the opportunity to apply to paid summer co-ops. Our Electrical Engineering Technician program will equip you with electrical and electronic theory and practice -  the tools you need to take on entry level positions or an apprenticeship in the electrical industry.

The four-semester Electrical Engineering Technician program will provide you with a solid foundation. Your writing skills will also grow. In the classroom and outside it, written communication takes many forms - essays, laboratory reports, and practical business documentation. In the University Transfer curriculum, faculty co-ordinate their efforts to help students develop these related writing skills.

ENTRY TO UNIVERSITY
Trent University Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science
This program was developed in collaboration with Trent University. As a result, Trent University will grant a total of five first year credits (in English, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, plus one unassigned credit) to graduates of this program who achieve an overall average of 70%, and no individual grade of less than 65% in their Literature, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, Composition and Critical Analysis courses. Successful program graduates will have obtained the credits required for first year of Trent's Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree. (Other Trent degree programs also recognize these Fleming courses for advanced standing.)

Trent University Indigenous Bachelor of Education
To be eligible, applicants are required to self-identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit, and must also have achieved a 75% cumulative average in the University Transfer program. Successful applicants will be awarded five credits out of the 25 credit degree.

Carleton University Bachelor of Arts
At Carleton University, program graduates with an overall average of 70% or higher may be granted up to five full transfer credits, equivalent to first year towards the Bachelor of Arts degree.
A growing number of other universities recognize the program for significant credit towards their degrees.

The Customs Border Services program will prepare you for a career on the front line of global trade and law enforcement.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
New technologies and responsibilities are at the forefront of current customs and border services activities and procedures. The scope of border operations continues to expand as our economy becomes increasingly tied to the global marketplace. As cross border trade exceeds well over one billion dollars a day, our "smart border" needs to efficiently manage the flow of legitimate trade and travellers as we move toward an environment in which the exchange and use of electronic data between countries, and within Canada, becomes a permanent reality. The result is the continued growth of challenging new career opportunities in both the public and private sectors.

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) uses its front line law enforcement employees, Border Services Officers (BSOs), to fulfill its roles and responsibilities. The BSOs are trained to function as both a Customs and an Immigration official, depending upon the needs of the port of entry where they are employed. As Canada’s first line of defence, they are also trained and equipped to protect themselves and to ensure our overall safety and well-being.

The Customs Border Services program provides experiential, hands-on learning with real life enforcement tools such as a baggage x-ray machine, travellers’ baggage and a practice automobile, to help prepare you for common enforcement-related activities in the field with the CBSA. This training is also beneficial for the non-enforcement jobs found in the brokerage, consulting, transportation and private (import/export) industries. Throughout this program you will:

Learn the role and legislative jurisdiction of Customs, Immigration and Canadian Food Inspection (Border Services), including enforcement techniques and procedures.
Review Customs legislation, procedures and documentation, and Immigration legislation
Gain an appreciation for global diversity through additional study of the legislation and regulations relating to other government departments.
Develop the computer, communications, dispute resolution and critical thinking skills that today's employers are demanding both in the private and public sectors of Border Services in Canada.
At the conclusion of your regular courses and curriculum within the program, you will participate in a mandatory field placement (co-op) in a private industry/business, customs brokerage or public agency to gain valuable work experience that often results in an offer of employment if you meet their standards.

Eligible students graduating from Fleming’s two-year accounting program can enter Trent University’s Bachelor of Business Administration, Specialization in Accounting directly and complete their degree in an additional two years without any bridging courses required. You must maintain a 75% overall average and an average of 65% in ACCT 72, ACCT4, ACCT22, ACCT 76, ACCT 80, ACCT 23, and ACCT 77 in order to meet the requirements of the accounting specialization degree at Trent, and the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Canada professional accreditation body.

The Tourism-Global Travel program combines practical hands-on experiences with class lectures. WORK EXPERIENCE
You have the opportunity to travel on a field trip and volunteer on projects with local people, experience and understand why people travel to resort destinations. You are also required to solicit and complete a minimum of 200 hours of field placement, to practice the theories and skills studied in class.
