In this three-year advanced diploma program, you will learn how to interpret schematic drawings, and use electrical and mechanical diagnostic tools. With an emphasis on automation and robotics, this program is a blend of electronics and mechanical engineering and focuses on training engineering technologists. You will acquire industry specific skills such as operating hydraulic and pneumatic machineries, using programmable logic controllers (PLC), and understanding machine elements and industrial automation. Classes and labs will be delivered in Seneca’s Centre for Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship

This two-year diploma program prepares you for a dynamic career in the property and casualty (general) insurance industry in Canada. Offered in cooperation with the Insurance Institute of Canada (IIC), this program is anchored on the fundamental aspects of both business and insurance and was designed with experts from several national insurance firms. Your learning will focus explicitly on brokerage, underwriting and claims.

New for 2021: Seneca has launched the Flights Experiential Hub at Newnham Campus. This state-of-the-art training centre is the first of its kind among Canadian postsecondary institutions. It includes a B737 cabin simulator, an A320 door simulator, a mock airline interior cabin, and an aircraft evacuation slide, all to provide you with real-life learning experiences. While many of the program's courses remain online, they are balanced with opportunities to study on-campus, using authentic airline safety and emergency equipment in semesters two, three and four.

Field Placement
As part of your program credit hours, you will complete 150 hours of field placement in the fourth semester. You will receive assistance from your professor, but it is your responsibility to confirm a placement upon successful completion of all third semester subjects before accepting a field placement position.

This eight-month certificate program is designed to provide you with a solid background in accounting and computerized bookkeeping. The program focuses on helping you develop critical skills, such as financial reporting, practical experience with accounting software packages and training in business communication.

Offered in cooperation with the Canadian Institute of Bookkeeping (CIB) this program allows you to earn courses required for CIB's professional bookkeeping designation and prepares you for a career in bookkeeping and entry-level accounting.

This two-year program will prepare you to become a visual merchandiser who can expertly style a brand’s image with mannequins, merchandise, pop-up locations, window displays and store fronts. You’ll express your innovative ideas using design-based software programs, and get hands-on experience working with luxury retail partners such as Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Holt Renfrew and Harry Rosen.

Field Placement

Not only will you put into practice the skills developed throughout the program, but you’ll also build a professional network and improve your understanding of the industry. Field placements are varied and may include working in a retail environment, assisting as a fashion stylist during Fashion Week, making props for Toronto’s iconic Santa Claus Parade or working closely with visual designers on exciting industry projects.

In this two-year diploma program, you will learn the fundamentals of digital and analog electronics, combined with a foundation in computer technology. This program provides relevant hands—on laboratory work to give you the practical experience, as well as theoretical knowledge of electronic devices, computer programming and diagnostic techniques that the electronics industry values.
