This eight-month certificate program is designed to develop your skills and knowledge appropriate for an entry-level position in the tourism industry. In this three-year advanced diploma program, you will increase your knowledge of design and engineering principles. You will learn to apply theories of design, production and marketing to gain an understanding of the steps necessary to commercialize a design idea. Your studies will introduce you to machining and production techniques, rapid prototyping, principles of mechanical design, engineering analysis, marketing, basic accounting practices, entrepreneurial skills, ergonomics, basic electricity and electronics, reverse engineering and product and design digitizing.

This program shares a common first and second semester curriculum with the Mechanical Techniques (Tool & Die/Mould Making) program. It shares a common third and fourth semester as the Mechanical Engineering Technician – Tool Design. This concept of laddering allows flexibility and options to increase levels of education incrementally.

In this three-year advanced diploma program you will concentrate on the complexities that are involved in the movement and marketing of products and services internationally. You will build a foundation of general business knowledge and applications. Your learning will focus on the complexities of international trade that includes exporting, importing, international marketing, international finance, negotiation and entrepreneurship. You will also learn how to use industry leading Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools, including SAP and other software.

The program offers a rich and diverse intercultural educational experience. You will learn your craft from faculty with current industry experience in international business. This program is accredited by Forum for International Trade Training (FITT).

Optional Co-op
Students meeting all academic requirements may have the opportunity to complete an optional co-op work term(s) in a formal work environment. In most cases the work term(s) is a full-time paid position completed between two academic semesters. In programs with limited co-op opportunities, additional academic requirements and a passing grade on a communication assessment may be required for eligibility. Eligibility for participation does not guarantee a work position will be secured. Additional fees are required for those participating in the optional co-op stream regardless of success in securing a work position.

This program will prepare you to design, build, implement and maintain complex computer and software solutions that are efficient, reliable and secure. The degree’s emphasis is on artificial intelligence (AI) in solving software engineering problems. Courses focus on software engineering criteria in the areas of mathematics, natural sciences, engineering design and engineering science.  

Your studies will include two mandatory, co-operative, four-month work-integrated learning experiences — one between semesters 6 and 7 and another between semesters 7 and 8. In your final year of the program, you will choose from Professional Option courses such as robotics, parallel programming and computer vision. You will also undertake a substantial industry-driven group project.

Mandatory Degree Co-op
A work experience that includes at least one term in a formal work environment. In most cases the work term(s) is a paid position that is completed between two academic semesters and requires a minimum of 420 hours of work. Students must be in good standing and meet all identified requirements prior to participating in the work experience. The successful completion of the co-op work term(s) is required for graduation. Eligibility for participation does not guarantee that a work position will be secured. Additional fees are required for those participating in the mandatory co-op stream regardless of success in securing a work position.

This four-year degree program combines theory with practice, allowing you to develop critical and strategic skills required for human resource management. You will gain necessary technical knowledge including HRIMS/SAP, data mining and metrics.

As a graduate of this program, you will have the required knowledge to pursue several key industry designations such as:

• Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation through the Human Resources Professionals Association
• The Microsoft Office Specialist Certificate through Microsoft

In this eight-month graduate certificate program, you will gain the technical and professional skills that are necessary to become a compliance officer. This program covers Canadian regulatory requirements for the banking, insurance and securities industries. The Financial Services Compliance Administration program does more than just equip graduates with the tools of the trade. It provides you with the opportunity to gain important experience.
