The Diploma in Art is essentially technical in nature. The interdisciplinary studio-based learning experience gives students a hands-on training in an art studio setting and introduces them to possible careers and education pathways in the arts and culture sector. Building a diverse set of technical skills while gaining practical experience.

Flexibility
Students in the Actuarial Studies major:  

• Are required to take the same business core courses as in other majors providing the opportunity to study other business-related areas   
• Can take as little as four actuarial courses to claim their major in actuarial mathematics
• Are able to pursue a double major in actuarial mathematics and a second subject if they choose
• Have access to the business library that provides updated study materials that help students prepare for professional actuarial exams

The Human Nutritional Sciences program includes foundation courses in basic sciences, fundamental courses in metabolic and applied nutrition, and applied courses in food utilization and management with an overall emphasis in human nutrition in any of the options that are available. Students will master key competencies in specializations in nutrition, foods or the food industry. All students receive a solid theoretical foundation in both food and nutritional sciences. Topics of study include energy and exercise, nutrients and nutritional supplements, food labels and health claims, diet and disease prevention, nutrient metabolism and disease states, nutrient requirements and diet evaluation, nutrition education and dietary change, and food quality and ingredient technology. 

The Diploma in Dental Hygiene is a 3-year program that prepares students to work as dental hygienists in a variety of employment settings. Dental hygiene is a self-regulated health service profession concerned primarily with the prevention of oral disease and the promotion of optimum oral health. As a licensed professional, the dental hygienists' scope of practice is regulated by provincial legislation. The dental hygiene process of care consists of five components: assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate, which guide dental hygiene practice in every setting. Dental hygienists work in private dental offices, community health centres, educational institutions, personal care homes and various other environments.

Students admitted to the Master of Science in Management degree program will pursue a research-focused degree in one of the departments of Marketing, Finance, Actuarial Mathematics, Business Administration or Supply Chain Management. The M.Sc. program in Management is designed to produce graduates who have an academically more in-depth, rigorous training in their chosen management field than is the case for either B.Comm (Hons.) graduates or MBA graduates. In addition, the program seeks to develop strong research skills to meet the needs of employers as well as to more effectively prepare M.Sc. students for entrance into Ph.D. programs at the University of Manitoba.

Political Studies examines the dynamics of human interaction in which individuals and groups compete, and cooperate, to achieve their goals, in the context of competing visions, values and interests. It is therefore a study of power, particularly in connection with law and public policy. Because people often disagree about, say, civil liberties, sustainable development, and distributive justice, they divide themselves into various groups: nations, political parties, trade unions, business associations, environmental organizations, to mention but a few. Political studies tries to understand what happens when individuals and groups struggle with one another to achieve their different goals. Within states there are mechanisms called governments to oversee and guide political struggle, and studying politics can help us better appreciate why various types of government behave the way they do.
