We offer high-quality undergraduate and graduate programs. The undergraduate programs have strong hands-on components as many courses include laboratories developed and overseen by four full-time laboratory instructors. Process Systems Engineering (PSEng) is a broad category of engineering that deals with the process design for the purpose of converting raw goods to usable end products, including energy. Process engineering looks at the entire process from Point A, which is a raw material, to Point Z, which is the desired end product. It does not necessarily deal with acquiring the raw base material, although knowledge of its acquisition is part of the U of R’s systems approach to teaching and research.

Students can complete the pre-optometry requirements for the Optometry program at the University of Waterloo through the Faculty of Science at the University of Regina. Students are eligible to apply to the University of Waterloo after three years of specified pre-optometry courses. Pre-optometry courses completed at the University of Regina can be used toward a BSc at the University of Regina.

The goal of the First Nations University of Canada's Department of Indian Languages, Literatures and Linguistics is to strengthen the First Nations' identity by ensuring the survival of Saskatchewan First Nations' languages. We encourage students to be proud of and to use, First Nations' languages.
The department offers classes in Cree, Saulteaux, Nakota, Dakota and Dene. It also offers a linguistics program.

The Petroleum Systems Engineering program in the Faculty of Engineering offers graduate programs focused on conducting research in the areas of enhanced oil recovery (EOR), reservoir modeling and simulation, heavy oil recovery through SAGD and VAPEX processes, miscible and immiscible displacement, fluid-rock interactions, and underground storage of carbon dioxide in depleted or partially-depleted hydrocarbon reservoirs. These graduate programs lead to masters and doctoral degrees.

Major global challenges of our time, such as climate change, depletion of natural resources, water availability, migration, war and conflict are better understood and addressed by those who have an in-depth knowledge of geography and environmental studies. The subject is diverse and is based on both natural science and social studies.

What is Geography and Environmental Studies?
Geography and Environmental Studies encompasses three areas:

• Human geography
• Physical geography
• Environmental studies

Human geography analyses the way humans use and understand the world and addresses the spatial differentiation and organization of human activity and its interrelationships with the physical environment.

Physical geography—a component of Earth sciences—is the study of the natural processes that occur at and above the surface of the Earth.

Geography is one of mankind’s earliest scientific disciplines and studies the environment – everything that surrounds us, including human beings.

Environmental Studies encompasses the study of the planet and its intricate variety of living and non-living elements and processes, how human beings connect with the physical structures, institutions and economies we build, and the politics, language and culture by which we communicate.

The four-year Bachelor of Music degree program provides excellent preparation in the fields of performance (vocal or instrumental), composition, or comprehensive music. Private studio lessons help students develop their technique and artistry. Individual study is complemented by courses in the history, analysis and theory of music that cover historical and contemporary music. Courses in conducting and participation in dynamic vocal and instrumental ensembles are a source of valuable practical experience and performing opportunities.

The Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Media Production is a 42 credit hour program designed for advanced studies in Media Arts Production. Students can work in dramatic, documentary, animation and experimental cinema and media, through a range of artistic, aesthetic, technical, and theoretical approaches. Courses offer a combination of general and specialized study in Film and Media Arts production. An intensive investigation of critical issues in Film and Media Arts theory will develop the student’s abilities in cultural and artistic discourse at an advanced level and will contribute to the shaping of sophisticated and versatile graduates from this program.
