Criminology as a branch of knowledge is built on certain foundations which include a thorough understanding of criminal justice system, elementary knowledge of criminal law, and an appreciation of rule of law. Criminology improves the criminal justice system by contributing to the effective enforcement of criminal law. Through the programme, the School aims to build criminal justice professionals who can contribute to the administration of the justice by upholding the values of rule of law.

The BA (Hons.) in Built Environment Studies at the Jindal School of Art and Architecture is a unique 3 + 1 (fellowship year option) program in the country. This program is especially designed for students who are interested in building and maintaining our cities, towns, infrastructure and communities from a humanistic and social scientific background. Through courses in this program you learn about the fundamentals of design & making our cities, towns infrastructure and communities in addition to learning law, policy, environmental issues, question of economics, technology, sustainability and ecology; all of which prepare you for becoming active participants in making the Built Environment of the future. Your “classrooms” are live cases and projects where you work with experts to learn how design, policy and law and go hand in hand to make buildings, cities, infrastructure to secure development that is just and equitable for communities. You visit and intern in firms that work globally in areas of housing, urban development, community design and development, conservation and heritage management, landscape design, sustainable development to develop your own insights into the variety of people who work on the Built Environment. You also avail of many exchange opportunities with similar programs in some of the top schools of design globally.

Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) is now offering the 3 years Bachelor of Arts in Gender Studies (B.A. (Hons.) in Gender Studies) programme. The programme is designed in keeping with the latest University Grants Commission prescriptions and aims at fostering a culture of scholarship and academic excellence amongst the students. Gender Studies as a discipline has gained immense prominence in contemporary times. The systematic inquiries of Gender Studies help understand the many social and historical contexts in the interplay of genders, gender inequalities and fight for equality, impact and relevance of social movements on gender, gender practices in various forms of societies, and the role of gender in social and cultural production. The intellectual diversity, rigor, and discourse of Gender Studies, while providing an epistemological consciousness and sprit of inquiry among students, sensitize them about gender issues in society which further help in engendering respect for gender equality and gender identities.

The internet age has brought on the need for a scientific approach to the study of journalism and the media. How do you find information, process it and communicate it for maximum impact in the 21st century? Our international, industry-benchmarked curriculum takes on a liberal arts approach informed by the social sciences. We provide a holistic, experiential education where our students learn to produce content for multimedia platforms. We also teach our students to situate their journalism and media practice within the broader context of democracy, social welfare and human rights.

Experiential learning at JSJC works in two ways. First, our state-of-the-art studios enable our students to create professional-grade content, closely supervised by our faculty. Second, we work closely with the Office of Career Services to obtain internship opportunities for our students. We have partnered with leading media platforms in India. Our students have written for the Hindustan Times, the Citizen, Indian Express and the Wire amongst others. We are also working closely with international partners to facilitate study abroad and semester exchange programmes for our students. In the past, our students have taken classes at the University of Sydney, Koc University in Istanbul, IDC Herzliya in Israel amongst others.

The programme is designed in keeping with the latest University Grants Commission prescriptions and aims at fostering a culture of scholarship and academic excellence amongst the students. Since its recognition as a right through Magna Carta, human rights have found a cardinal place in societies, irrespective of the nature of society or the form of government. The pan human perspective of human rights helped all members of society-irrespective of their class, creed, community, gender, and nationality-to become bearers of the rights. With the evolution of society from medieval monarchies to more advanced forms of social governance in modernity, human rights have become broader and inclusive. Our globalizing society has witnessed the rise of human rights as a profession, mainly under the aegis of the United Nations (UN) through various general and particular programmes of aid and assistance. These programmes percolated to the national, regional, and local levels through many sub-national human rights initiatives and activities. The activities spanned over areas, e.g., community services, charity, awareness building, investigation, research, policy-making, legal advice, and cause lawyering.

The B.A. (Hons.) in Psychology degree is awarded following completion of a three-year undergraduate programme committed to the study of human mental processes and behaviour. The programme aims to instil the necessary knowledge and skills for each student’s personal and academic growth, nurturing the next generation of professional leaders in psychology, counselling, and related fields.

Employing a multidisciplinary approach, the JSPC curriculum ensures students gain a broad understanding of the psychological sciences. Unique to JSPC, students can customize or personalize their curriculum during their final year of study based on personal interests and long-term professional goals. Beyond the classroom, students gain experiential hands-on experience via practicums and internships. Finally, access to a new Psychology Research Laboratory, and many research centres around campus, affords interested students’ ample opportunity to gain experience in experimental design and data collection.

The B.A. Economics (Honours) degree at the Jindal School of Government and Public Policy (JSGP) aims to provide theoretical and practical knowledge that makes accurate analysis of the economic situation possible.

B.A. Economics graduates from JSGP must be able to understand the interrelation between the economy and society: to consider economic problems from a global perspective and take a local approach to solve them; to make connections between an economic system’s different components; to gauge the implications of decisions related to economic policy; and to respond to the economic problems arising from society in general and the different units that interact therein (e.g. institutions, private companies and sectors of the economy).
