They explore the environmental, social, political and economic processes that shape places and how the places that people create, in turn, shape our lives. The interdisciplinary Bachelor of Arts in Geography stands at the crossroads of physical and social sciences; students may focus on specific world landscapes and cultures or on areas such as urban, political, economic or cultural geography, or on human-environment relations. Geography students learn to analyze data and policy in order to address and research critical questions about the world they live in.

It deals with the exploration of particular languages and the search for general properties common to all languages or large groups of languages. In this Bachelor of Arts program, students complete coursework in the basics of linguistics, such as phonetics (sound patterns), morphology (how words are built) and syntax (sentence structure), as well as how humans use language, such as pragmatics (language in context) and sociolinguistics (language and culture). Delve into the complex world of information systems and computational methods, and transform data into the real-world information humans use every day. A degree in Information Science and Technology helps students build the mathematical and computational foundation they need to analyze  and grow in the digital world. This Bachelor of Science leans more heavily on the technical side of information science, including requirements for higher math and specialized courses, than the Bachelor of Arts in Information Science in our program. Students take courses in advanced computing techniques, machine learning, data science, artificial intelligence and theories of new media. Paired with a minor or second major in computer science, math or business, this program equips students for professions that aim to shape the digital landscape, from data engineers to user experience (UX) designers.

The Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics is an interdisciplinary program that combines a broad interest in physics with practical career skills, networking opportunities and experience that equips students for real-world problem-solving. In addition to broad study of physics, students take technical elective courses in the areas of science, engineering, math or programming, along with courses in data, statistics or monitoring and communications. Students are required to complete an Engineering Senior Design Project. Alternatively, interdisciplinary design or internship experience can be considered on a case-by-case basis. The B.S. in Applied Physics serves as a launchpad for careers in the private sector or for advanced study in applications such as engineering and medicine.

Immerse yourself in the Spanish language while learning various cultures through the ages via Hispanic the Literature emphasis. Students seeking their Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with a Hispanic Literature emphasis will take language courses in both Spanish and Portuguese while studying Hispanic literature. Outside of the classroom, students hone their Spanish language conversation skills in Spanish Club or their Portuguese-speaking skills in Bate Papo. Various study abroad programs through the University of Arizona provide Spanish majors the opportunity for additional language and cultural immersion, adding to their undergraduate experience.

The Bachelor of Music in Music Education curriculum prepares students to become music teachers, offering K-12 certification in instrumental, vocal and general music classrooms. In this Bachelor of Arts major, students gain deep knowledge of society's origins, its functions and its problems, focusing on relations among people, groups, organizations and cultures.
