Improve your technique and performance skills as a flute musician while broadening your understanding of the fundamentals of music. Flute studies at the Fred Fox School of Music include weekly private lessons, a weekly studio master class, small group technique classes, flute pedagogy and more. Along with applied study, students earning the Bachelor of Music in Performance with a Flute emphasis perform solo, chamber, concerto, orchestral and wind ensemble repertoire for live performances, competitions and recordings. They focus on performance objectives; develop important kinesiological habits; condense music theory, history and physiology in a simplified, interpretative way; and train the body's physical performance mechanisms. Students are encouraged to seek national and international recognition through competitions, festival performances and scholarly publications.

Examine intricate theories and conceptual understandings of global phenomenon from a multidisciplinary perspective and the first step to engaging in cross-cultural collaboration and conversation. Global Studies critically examines global issues, taking an intellectual and experiential approach to teaching students to analyze, communicate, problem-solve and empathize. The Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies with a Global Health and Development emphasis, adapted to real-world contingencies, prepares students to become these much-needed innovators.
