The department offers a bachelor's degree in human services. The field of human services is a growing professional field. There is increasing demand for human service professionals in the field of child, adult, family and community services in various human service organizations and settings. Human Service professionals work with diverse populations providing a wide variety of social, personal, and health services depending on the need of the individual, group or community. Accordingly, the Human Services degree at Rowan University offers three unique concentration areas: direct care/direct services, administration, and criminal justice. Each concentration area is a total of 9 credits. Students also gain valuable experience during their field internship where they get course credit working at local human service organizations. Field internships allow students the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to real life experiences.

The MA in Diversity and Inclusion will educate professionals who can help create diverse workspaces where innovation can thrive when people are able to work, volunteer, and govern because of their differences. Rooted in ethnographic methodology, the program will provide students with knowledge and methodologies to help specific organizations or institutions work towards building diverse and inclusive communities. This work requires deep knowledge of cultures, history, ideas, social structures, institutions, and politics, the breadth of what Humanities and Social Sciences has to offer.

Studio art prepares you to confidently enter the professional world of art as an illustrator, designer or fine artist, or continue your education in a graduate program.

Studying writing arts increases understanding of the multiple facets of written communication. Through a variety of courses and learning experiences in creative, academic, new media, and applied writing, students learn to become flexible, adaptable writers, ready to bring advanced writing, reading, and critical thinking skills to the workplace.

Molecular and Cellular Biology focuses on the study of the processes that govern living organisms. Comprehensive curricula cover theory and laboratory methods, allowing students to carry out and understand molecular and biomedical research. The program provides students a solid foundation in the life sciences preparing them for careers in the highly competitive health professions programs such as medical school, dental school, and pharmacy school, nursing, biotechnology and pharmacuetical industry positions.

Rowan's Physics major balances general physics courses that develop analytical skills needed for any career direction with more advanced courses in highly technical areas. The department also offers coursework in astronomy and astrophysics. Personal attention is a hallmark of the program: enrollment in laboratory-based physics classes is limited to 24 students per section, and all lectures and labs are taught by faculty, not teaching assistants. In our junior-level Research Methods courses, students will have access to state-of-the-art equipment as they plan and execute a project under the direction of our research faculty. Physics majors can enter fields such as education, going on to teach at the secondary level, or pursue an advanced degree to become a college profesor and/or conduct research; others may enter fields such as busiess, computers, engineering, finance, law, and medicine.

The International Studies program at Rowan is designed to prepare students to live and develop their careers in an increasingly interdependent world. To prosper in this global era, students should work to increase their knowledge of global issues and international relations, institutions, and economies; they should attempt to develop expertise in the languages, history, and cultures of other parts of the world. The Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science prepares students interested in careers related to the field of Exercise Science. These include: Clinical Exercise Physiology, Strength and Conditioning, Corporate Fitness, Medical, and Community Based Fitness and Wellness Centers along with other Exercise Science related fields. Students develop the knowledge, skills, experiences, and dispositions to successfully promote improvements in health, fitness, performance, and reduction in the risk for injuries and chronic diseases for a variety of populations. Graduates will be prepared to earn national certifications through the American College of Sports Medicine, the National Strength and Conditioning Association, the National Academy of Sports Medicine, the International Society of Sports Nutrition, and many others.
