The field of geography is one of the most exciting and dynamic disciplines at Rowan University. Far more than memorizing capital cities and place names on a map, geography is an engaging field that has a wide diversity of specializations that provide outstanding preparation for high-demand and rewarding careers in environmental management, spatial analysis and sustainability. The common themes that unite all geographers are the scientific exploration of the earth and spatial analysis. One branch of geography focuses on people (human geography) and the other branch focuses on the environment (physical geography). There are multiple sub-disciplines within the field that cover everything from geology and climatology to demography and planning.

Career roles include recruitment and employee screening, performance management, employee relations, enforcement of disciplinary actions, compensation negotiation, management of employee records, continued education, and so on. HR Management is in demand across an unlimited number of industries. Long term career goals include SHRM certification, HRCI certification, succession planning, HR data and analytics, HR information systems, and introducing/maintaining company culture.

The Biophysics major prepares students for medical school, graduate school in biophysics and for careers in medical industry. Immerse yourself in an interdisciplinary major that will prepare you to employ the power of physics, chemistry and math to study biological processes, understand how to prevent diseases, design cures or develop novel technologies.

Biophysics harnesses several branches of science to explore the biological systems and the physical properties of their molecules. A degree in biophysics will prepare you to work in research institutes, medical centers, with the government or at universities.

Our M.A. in Counseling in Educational Settings prepares professional practitioners in School Counseling to become change agents in their school and community through a system perspective where all students are served. Rowan English majors explore how meaning is made in and through language. They study a wide range of literary texts, learning to read closely, to ask sharp questions, and to write skillfully and with purpose. Rowan English majors form a unique and diverse learning community—one that celebrates intellectual curiosity, civic responsibility, and the rigors of research and critical analysis. At all levels of the curriculum, English majors engage with questions of genre, form, style, author, and audience as well as with questions of history, nation, culture, and social identity. The departmental mission is to teach and model the range of traditions and perspectives necessary for the study of literature, its history, and its contexts today.

The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Mathematics major consists of 120 semester hours. The major requires students to take courses in logic, physics, computer science and applied and theoretical mathematics. Students in consultation with faculty advisors can construct flexible and comprehensive programs.
