Diploma in Interactive Media Design

The program prepares students for a career in the residential construction industry. Courses are designed to provide the technical knowledge required to perform the construction, estimating, and scheduling associated with the building of one and two-storey houses, duplexes and townhouses.  A portion of the program is devoted to the acquisition of hands-on skills pertaining to the construction field.

Co-operative Education
This two year program has two Co-operative Education work terms. Students can choose to participate in a four-month paid co-op term from May to August between years one and two of academic study. The second four-month work term will take place from May to August following the completion of the second year of academic study.

Fanshawe College's Law Clerk program is designed to provide students with a solid grounding in legal principles combined with the practical law clerk training that students will need to enter the diverse, fast-paced, modern field of law. As a graduate of the Law Clerk program you will work as part of a team in law firms, corporate legal departments, financial institutions, insurance companies, legal technology providers, title insurance companies, Federal, Provincial and Municipal Governments or in any other capacity where a legal environment exists. Depending upon your choice of career path, you could find yourself preparing motion records and trial documentation, interviewing witnesses, arranging trial dates and adjournments, drafting corporate/commercial documentation, completing Family Law Act financial statements, administering estates, negotiating leases, administering contracts, completing legal research, searching titles or processing real estate transactions. At Fanshawe College you will learn about many areas of Canadian law including civil litigation, corporate/commercial, debtor and creditor rights, real estate, landlord and tenant, estate administration, family law and contracts. You will refine your communication and information processing skills as you learn how to research, analyze and write in the legal environment. You will develop an ability to work with a variety of leading-edge legal software applications and online commercial legal databases and services.

Construction Engineering Technology is a two-year diploma for students interested in overseeing the construction of residential, industrial and commercial projects. Students will learn to estimate project costs, develop a construction plan, schedule projects, and perform on-site inspections using the latest technology. Graduates will be prepared for their career by learning soft skills required to be an effective leader.

This graduate certificate program teaches students to leverage sports and events as an all-encompassing marketing communication medium. While the courses focus on sport as the learning catalyst, the skills learned also apply to other sectors such as arts, entertainment and non-profit, broadening the employment landscape for business and marketing students. Students will benefit from courses that include advanced and management level skills in the Sport and Event Marketing and Management world. Digital platforms ensure students use the latest in forms and tools.

The Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Digital Marketing) program is a four-year, honours level degree with a mandatory co-op work term between Levels 7 and 8.  Students will study core fundamentals of business including business strategy, management, human resources, accounting and leadership in addition to the specialized digital marketing courses, including brand management and media integration, analytics, strategic website management and search engine marketing. Students will be well prepared to write certification exams within the digital marketing field upon graduation.

Our Three-Year Advanced Diploma provides comprehensive training to students wanting to enter the professional industry of Graphic Design. The program ranges from industry standard software training, the fundamentals of basic design skills to creative concept development, traditional illustration and photography. We offer comprehensive training in interactive design, web and multimedia, digital illustration, motion graphics as well as courses covering theories of creativity, visual thinking, typography and design history. Besides the traditional aspects of design, we initiate new courses on an ongoing basis as well as update and refresh present courses each term to ensure students remain current with trends in the graphic design industry.

Our main focus is for students to learn to be adaptable designers with a passion for learning. We provide students with a range of theoretical and practical skills so that they can be successful in our rapidly changing industry that includes many specializations and a diverse job market.

Interior designers focus on the planning, design and detailing of interior space to improve the quality of people's physical environment. The four-year Honours Bachelor of Interior Design program covers both commercial and residential design, providing comprehensive treatment of all facets of interior design including research, problem analysis, concept development, design communication, drawings and specifications, technology, verbal and visual presentation methods, construction, and business practice. The courses develop students' skills as creative designers who can formulate, propose and execute creative design solutions for the physical, social and psychological needs of a changing society. Principles of environmental sustainability and socially responsible design are embedded throughout the courses.

The Construction Engineering Technology program will develop the technical knowledge and skills required to oversee and manage the construction of residential, industrial, commercial and institutional projects - from the conceptual planning phase through to project completion and contract closeout. 

Students within the advanced diploma will learn how to estimate labour, material and costs, write and understand contacts, establish a project’s budget, develop a site logistic plan, schedule and manage construction projects, and perform on-site field engineering, field inspections, and utilize the latest onsite technology. You'll also learn the soft skills required to be an effective, respected leader - both in the office and on-site.

The Construction Engineering Technology  - Management program offers a co-operative education component, which provides students the opportunity to gain invaluable first-hand workplace experience in their chosen field. This two-year diploma in accounting is designed to prepare graduates to work in an accounting environment at the entry or intermediate accounting level. This accounting diploma program starts with accounting fundamentals and then moves to detailed accounting principles and concepts, including computerized accounting. When you graduate, you’ll have the skills required for success in a corporate accounting department in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, merchandising, small business accounting, banks and other financial institutions. You’ll also work in public accounting firms and federal, provincial and municipal government offices. This program is an ideal starting point for those seeking a career in accounting.

This three-year Commercial Flight and Aviation Leadership Advanced Diploma is designed to prepare domestic and international students for a career in aviation. 

The program includes training in the following areas:

• Safety management systems
• Canadian Aviation Regulations
• Flight operations
• Professional standards and practices

In this program students will complete a Canadian Private and Commercial Pilot license including night, multi-engine and instrument ratings.  Graduates will be able to seek opportunities in Aviation flight operations and business ventures as well as professional flight positions. 

Flight training will be delivered by Diamond Flight Centre London Inc., located at the London International Airport.
