Overview

Interior designers focus on the planning, design and detailing of interior space to improve the quality of people's physical environment. The four-year Honours Bachelor of Interior Design program covers both commercial and residential design, providing comprehensive treatment of all facets of interior design including research, problem analysis, concept development, design communication, drawings and specifications, technology, verbal and visual presentation methods, construction, and business practice. The courses develop students' skills as creative designers who can formulate, propose and execute creative design solutions for the physical, social and psychological needs of a changing society. Principles of environmental sustainability and socially responsible design are embedded throughout the courses.

  • Prepare working drawings and specifications for non-load bearing interior construction, in compliance with universal accessibility guidelines, applicable building codes and industry standards;

The Developmental Services Worker two-year diploma program prepares its graduates to support people with developmental disabilities so that these individuals may participate fully in their communities. DSW have the specialized knowledge and skills required to work with people with developmental disabilities across the life span.

Inherent to the role of a DSW is an ability to collaborate and build relationships with people with developmental disabilities and their families and to work with colleagues and members of inter-professional teams to facilitate a seamless network of support for people.

This innovative four-year honours baccalaureate program offers students studies in early childhood development, early childhood pedagogy, human relationships, curriculum development and leadership skills, developing the necessary skills to engage as pedagogical leaders in a diverse range of roles in the evolving disciplines within early childhood education and care.  A key component of this degree is the applied learning that takes place in ideal sized classrooms, with a focus on case studies, research, three field placements, that culminates in one fourteen-week Internship between third and fourth year.  International internships are offered on a limited basis for qualifying students. The program provides graduates with knowledge of 1) payroll and human resources practices including compensation and benefits, and 2) bookkeeping practices and related accounting software applications. Graduates will have met the educational requirements for the Payroll Compliance Practitioner designation and will have three advanced standing credits towards completion of the Certified Payroll Manager designation with the Canadian Payroll Association (CPA). The Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) program is a four-year, honours level degree with a mandatory co-op work term between Levels 7 and 8. Students will study many aspects of accounting including financial accounting, cost accounting, management accounting, business finance, auditing and taxation in addition to a variety of general business management concepts including business strategy, marketing and human resources. The program will satisfy the degree requirements for all accounting professional bodies and will be closely aligned with the requirements for the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (CPA). Students will be required to write certification exams for the professional bodies after graduation and fulfill experience requirements as part of the certification process for any professional body.

This one-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate program develops advanced knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and awareness of effective intervention techniques via two field placements and academic study.  Graduates have highly specialized areas of knowledge in ASD and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) to design and implement behaviour strategies, understand evidence-based treatments for individuals with ASD, collect and analyze data, and work with and train families on implementing behavioural strategies.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of behavioural intervention plans based on the principles of ABA.
  • Work collaboratively with families, teams, service providers, and the broader community to respond to the learning and behavioural needs of individuals with ASD.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate as part of a team, ABA based transition plans for individuals with ASD.
  • Comply with established ethical principles and professional guidelines
  • Provide leadership in the promotion and provision of services to meet the needs of individuals with ASD and their families.
  • Evaluate empirical evidence in order to select appropriate interventions for individuals with ASD.
