Overview

The Social Service Worker (Fast Track) program provides an opportunity for university graduates (Psychology, Sociology or Social Work related) and community college Community Studies diploma graduates to complete the requirements for graduation from the Social Service Worker program in three levels (ten months). Graduates from the Social Service Worker program are eligible for admission to The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and must be members of this regulating body to use the professional title "Registered Social Service Worker".

The two term Construction Project Management program will focus on the knowledge and skills required to advance in the construction industry to a management position, acknowledging the new demands of this role that include the theory and practice of managing a residential, industrial, commercial and institutional (I.C.I.) construction project from start to finish, while working inter-professionally and coordinating the work with a variety of other trades/professions. This is a highly specialized, advanced program in the theory and practice of all phases of producing creative sound for film, television, gaming, web animations, live audio, video and all new media forms.  Concept building is emphasized through various means: audio production and surround sound design and mixing, field recording, ADR, Foley, live sound and game sound techniques. Students are engaged in individual and collaborative projects involving practical and process oriented instruction, working with other graduate certificate programs and departments within the College, as well as independent lab time.

Business - Human Resources is a two-year Ontario College Diploma program. Students learn business basics such as accounting, communications, and computer applications, then focus on HR subjects such as training and development, recruitment, compensation, benefits, employment law and occupational health and safety.  In addition, students have the opportunity to achieve six of the nine Certified Human Resources Professional/Leader (CHRP/CHRL) credits. In their final semester, in class students have the opportunity to participate in a mentorship with an HR professional to experience first-hand the HR workplace environment. The Computer Systems Technician program is a two-year accredited Ontario College Diploma program which provides comprehensive training for students wishing to work in the high demand areas of workstation, server, application, network and security support. This program provides students the ability to think critically, solve problems and acquire new skills quickly.

Under the guidance of expert faculty, combined with the use of leading edge labs, the program emphasizes the hands-on installation and configuration of workstations, servers and networking equipment.  Students will also be expertly trained in current operating systems from Microsoft as well as Linux.  The program also focuses in on the installation and configuration of web servers, database servers, IT security, effective communication, problem solving and teamwork skills.
