This program will provide you with a variety of trade-specific skills, introducing you to installing, maintaining and repairing piping systems in residential, commercial and industrial settings, to enhance opportunities for employment.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
In the two-semester Mechanical Techniques - Plumbing program, you will learn to:

• Identify and install common plumbing fixtures in our multi-story KUBE structure
• Assemble various piping systems related to plumbing
• Interpret and create drawings, estimates and material lists
• Develop competencies in venting, waste and drainage systems
• Examine concepts in water and wastewater systems, including operations, backflow and cross connection

The General Arts and Science - University Transfer curriculum delivers more than just challenging individual courses. Academic disciplines have developed together over time. Your writing skills will also grow. In the classroom and outside it, written communication takes many forms - essays, laboratory reports, and practical business documentation. ENTRY TO UNIVERSITY
Trent University Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science
This program was developed in collaboration with Trent University. As a result, Trent University will grant a total of five first year credits (in English, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, plus one unassigned credit) to graduates of this program who achieve an overall average of 70%, and no individual grade of less than 65% in their Literature, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, Composition and Critical Analysis courses. Successful program graduates will have obtained the credits required for first year of Trent's Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree. (Other Trent degree programs also recognize these Fleming courses for advanced standing.)

Trent University Indigenous Bachelor of Education
To be eligible, applicants are required to self-identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit, and must also have achieved a 75% cumulative average in the University Transfer program. Successful applicants will be awarded five credits out of the 25 credit degree.

Carleton University Bachelor of Arts
At Carleton University, program graduates with an overall average of 70% or higher may be granted up to five full transfer credits, equivalent to first year towards the Bachelor of Arts degree.
A growing number of other universities recognize the program for significant credit towards their degrees.

The 2-year Global Business Management graduate certificate provides students with in-depth business expertise, concrete managerial skills and an appreciation of global cultures and traditions. The program includes a capstone work-integrated project that provides students with first-hand exposure to - and experience in - the Canadian work environment.

Program Highlights
The Global Business Management program builds on the foundations of the International Business Management program with an additional year of intensive instruction in advanced business topics. There is an emphasis on skills such as leadership, critical analysis and strong business communication, high performance teamwork and effective presentations-- all required for students to become successful managers. Students get to put these skills into practice with a capstone Applied Project where they work with industry and community partners to gain real-world professional experience.

Our Welding Techniques program offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a variety of welding processes, in preparation for employment in this high-demand field.

Program Highlights
The two-semester Welding Techniques program will provide graduates with entry level employable skills for the welding field. Curriculum in the program has been aligned to the basic requirements for Level One Apprenticeship for Welding Fabrication. Labour market demand for skilled welders is high. The Welding Techniques program will introduce you to numerous welding processes and you will gain extensive hands-on experience on the most common processes used within the industry. These processes include:

• SMAW (shielded metal arc welding)
• GMAW (gas metal arc welding)

You will also be exposed to specialized processes such as:

• FCAW (flux core arc welding)
• GTAW (gas tungsten arc welding)

Basic blueprint reading, trade math, weld symbols, metallurgy, oxy-fuel and plasma cutting/gouging will also be covered. Upon successful completion of the Welding Techniques program, you will be given the opportunity to challenge the SMAW 1G weld test and the 2GF certification from Canadian Welding Bureau. If successful, you will be issued a Welding Ticket by CWB which is valid for two years.

The program’s flexible delivery model, online and on-campus delivery, means you can continue to work while pursuing advanced training. You’ll attend in-class intensive weekend sessions three times each semester, while the balance of course work is completed online. Emergency Management and Business Continuity professionals are trained to prepare for loss of critical business functions. WORK EXPERIENCE
By the nature of this program, a significant amount of time is spent working in teams in the field, and on practical projects.
The third and final semester of the Museum Management and Curatorship program is a challenging, full-time, four-month internship during the spring and summer. This unpaid, curriculum-based internship will give you hands-on work experience where you will put all your hard work and studies into motion. Students should be prepared to relocate for the internship, to pay full tuition, and be self-supporting. You will negotiate your own internship with faculty assistance. Some students have gone abroad for the internship, for example, to Australia, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. Fleming College's Paralegal program is specifically designed to prepare you, as a graduate, to meet Ontario’s paralegal licensing standards. The program is accredited by the Law Society of Ontario.

Program Highlights
The Fleming Paralegal diploma is accredited with the Law Society of Ontario (LSO ). The LSO is the governing body for paralegals. Fleming program courses meet all competency requirements and prepare you to write the licensing exam and become a member of the LSO. As a licensed paralegal in Ontario you can commission documents and represent clients dealing with lawsuits falling within the jurisdiction of Small Claims Court. You can act for people facing summary conviction charges under municipal by-laws, provincial statutes or the Criminal Code. Some serve as by-law enforcement personnel, or act in a prosecutorial capacity for municipal governments. Paralegals are also trained to assist clients through the potentially complex proceedings of tribunals such as the Landlord and Tenant Board, the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, or the Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal. Some paralegals choose to work under the supervision of lawyers or other paralegals, while others offer their services directly to the public.

Work Experience
The 160-hour unpaid field placement is an opportunity to get an understanding of the demands and rewards of this career. Field Placement can be completed during the final 15 week semester of the program or can extend beyond your final academic semester. Placement opportunities must be within scope of practice as provided by the LSUC. In some cases a clear criminal record check may be required by the placement employer.

Delivered at our campus in Peterborough, this is one of the few two-year Graphic Design advanced diploma programs offered in Ontario. In this intensive, compressed program, three years of study is completed over a two- year period. Graduates are ready to start their graphic design careers in just 24 months.

Students in Fleming’s accelerated graphic design program learn and work in a unique, contemporary design studio space; in this “classroom as design lab and studio,” they discover what it takes to become a professional designer, and how to thrive in this fast-paced industry.

Students gain the skills and understanding required to communicate ideas in digital and printed media through extensive and varied applied learning experiences. At the end of six continuous semesters, they are fully-prepared to hit the ground running, ready to launch their design careers in any industry that requires creative problem solving through visual communication.
