In this three-year program, the final sixth semester is an applied project or field placement in partnership with business and, industry, or government department.

WORK EXPERIENCE
In your final semester, you will work on an intensive team project or field placement. Each student will contribute specialized knowledge, learned in their program of study, to the solution of a real world technological problem posed by a sponsoring business or organization. Recent projects include:

• Field placements in Security Operations Centres (SOCs) as security analysts, conducting analysis and protection against cyber threats in real time
• Field placements within financial and forensic firms, working real cases
• Field placements within corporate security departments and information security service providers
• Field Placements within cyber security units of various government agencies
• Security and penetration testing engagements with industry organizations
• Forensic analysis and creation of standards for a security corporation
• Development and field deployment of a computer network Intrusion Detection System for a managed security service company to support large commercial clients

This applied project or field placement will enhance problem-solving skills, applied industry knowledge, and the ability to work as part of a team. You'll also learn critical workplace skills such as time management, how to map a critical path, and presentation skills. Since you may be working on sophisticated developmental or research-based work, sponsors will often use the project as a testing ground and recruitment opportunity.

Law Clerks assist lawyers in such tasks as interviewing clients, conducting legal research, preparing documents, searching real estate and corporate registries, and in preparing cases for trial.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
Your two-year Law Clerk program will provide you with extensive education and training necessary to assist lawyers, and paralegals in both the private and public sector. You will be taught by experts in the legal field. In your first three semesters you are integrated with students in the college’s Paralegal Program. Your education will include such courses as Business and Contract Law, Introduction to Litigation, Legal Research and Writing, Criminal Law, Evidence, Advocacy, Small Claims Law, Practice Management, and Legal Accounting. In your final semester your skills will be further enhanced in the areas of Property Law, Family Law, Wills and Estates, Corporate Law, and Litigation Law.

• In the Law Clerk program, the 100-hour field placement provides students with experiential learning opportunities in legal settings, such as law offices, government agencies, legal clinics, private corporations, paralegal firms, courts or Crown offices.
• The Law Clerk program shares three semesters with the Paralegal program. Take one additional semester of study and receive a second diploma in the Paralegal program. WORK EXPERIENCE

• Field Placement extends beyond the 15-week semester and is usually done following completion of your final academic semester.

With the six-semester Computer Engineering Technology program, you can expand your repertoire of skills and knowledge to open up interesting and rewarding career opportunities.

Program Highlights
Beyond the technician level training, computer engineering technologists add analysis, design, project management and enhanced applied technology skills. You'll apply this knowledge to the analysis and design of complex computer systems and networks. You will also develop more self-sufficiency and better critical thinking skills.
You'll have open access beyond classroom time to our lab facilities - time to explore and learn, hands-on. Your ability to work effectively as a member of a technical team will also be further developed through course studies and a full-semester team-based project.

• Course work includes preparation for industry certification exams such as A+ and Cisco Networking.
• This program has recently received National Accreditation with the Canadian Technology Accreditation Board. Graduates are recognized by the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) as meeting all the academic requirements for certification in the Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) category

The Developmental Services Worker program (Disability Support) focuses on providing practical and meaningful support to people of all ages with intellectual, physical and learning disabilities to achieve their goals by inspiring, advocating and promoting inclusion.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
The Developmental Services Worker program focuses on providing support to people with various intellectual disabilities, such as Down Syndrome, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Traumatic Brain Injury and neurocognitive disorders, learning disabilities and/or physical disabilities. Graduates have the knowledge, skills and attitudes that include - and exceed - compassionate caring to support the empowerment of people with disabilities, while providing leadership in promoting social inclusion and helping people accomplish their goals and reach their dreams.

This two–year Ontario College diploma program is designed to provide the specialized skills required for professionals who make a difference every day in the lives of children, youth and adults who have disabilities as well as their support network at home, and in the community, (school, recreation, mental health and addictions, justice supports, employment support and more).

Students begin to specialize in person-centered, strength-based assessments and develop strategies for individuals, their families, and community inclusion through various community-based projects and field placements. Curriculum and field placements align with and exceed provincial and industry standards for the developmental services sector.

Students in this program also develop an understanding of the past, present and future of developmental services in Ontario and how it impacts the current lives of individuals and families. WORK EXPERIENCE
An essential component of your education will include experiential learning through course work as well as field placements. Three supervised field placements provide students with varied practical and networking experience where many students receive job offers. Students will also complete the last portion of their facilitation certificate by creating a Person-Directed Plan with a person they have built a relationship with throughout the program. Students will put theory into practice to help support and provide empowerment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Students also have the option of international placements in their fourth semester; however, this should be discussed with the program coordinator as early as possible (and prior to the end of semester 2) in order to assist in facilitating it.

In just 10 months you can add a Diploma in Recreation and Leisure Services to your existing college diploma or university degree, by enrolling in this accelerated program.

Through hands-on training, you will learn to develop and manage recreation programs to work in this challenging and rewarding field. In the final semester, get connected to the recreation industry thorough an experiential field placement at a site of your choice, that can be in Ontario, in Canada or in an international location.

Positioned at the convergence of science and art, the Environmental Visual Communication program is designed to fill a recognized need for individuals who are passionate about environmental issues and storytelling and who want to effectively engage people to foster change.

With a focus on strategic messaging and technical savvy, you will learn to use photography, videography, multimedia and design principles to bridge environmental competencies with thoughtful communication through diverse media channels. The program takes place in a truly unique learning environment - at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) in downtown Toronto.

Throughout the Environmental Visual Communication (EVC) program, you will learn how to identify strategies to inform and educate, garner engagement and support, and build and share campaigns to address conservation issues.

As a Cultural Heritage Conservation and Management specialist, you will learn a wide range of techniques to save the fragile reminders and markers of the past - preserved for future generations to learn from and enjoy.

Program Highlights
The fundamental role of the conservation professional is to preserve and conserve, as appropriate, cultural property for present and future generations. We have a lot to learn from the experiences and events of people who have gone before us. However, we can't learn much from the past if we don't have records of it. Imagine how much history is lost to us when an ancient artifact is destroyed by perfectly well-meaning people who want to save it.

This two-year Ontario College graduate certificate is an intensive, fast-paced learning experience that you will undertake in four consecutive semesters. You'll start your classes in September and spend your first three semesters, during the fall, winter and summer, at the college. Following your introduction to the field of conservation, you will gain valuable, applied and skills-based experience in the care and handling of most common museum materials, including ceramics, glass, stone, metals, wooden objects, leather and proteinaceous materials, textiles, works of art on paper, books, archival materials, photographs and modern materials. Updated curriculum reflects a focus on hands-on skills, experienced based learning, practical applications, beyond best practices and professional standards rooted in ethical applications. Once you've learned the theory and practical skills, you'll treat museum artifacts from local, regional, and national sites. Complementary courses, workshops, assignments, and community-based projects will offer off campus opportunities to practice conservation methods. A full-time, unpaid, curriculum-based internship in your final semester (September to December) provides an invaluable learning and work experience.

Work Experience
There are many opportunities to get practical experience both at the college and off-campus. In your fourth semester, you will take on a challenging, full-time, unpaid curriculum-based internship at an approved site. Students should be prepared to relocate for the internship, to pay full tuition fees, and be self-supporting during this semester. You will negotiate your own internship with faculty assistance and some students have participated in internships abroad. The internship is an unpaid study experience.Students are responsible for negotiating additional paperwork and funding requirements for international internships including visas, travel and insurance. This will prepare you for semester four, when you will be pulling it all together in your final block field placements.
• A background working with young children (ages newborn to 12) in licensed child care centres is strongly recommended as a prerequisite for field placement.
