Our unique three-semester Emergency Management and Business Continuity program is ideally suited for working professionals and those who are interested in pursuing a new career in this dynamic and growing field. You’ll attend in-class intensive weekend sessions three times each semester, while the balance of course work is completed online. Emergency Management and Business Continuity professionals are trained to prepare for loss of critical business functions. The Developmental Services Worker program focuses on providing support to people with various intellectual disabilities, such as Down Syndrome, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Traumatic Brain Injury and neurocognitive disorders, learning disabilities and/or physical disabilities. Graduates have the knowledge, skills and attitudes that include - and exceed - compassionate caring to support the empowerment of people with disabilities, while providing leadership in promoting social inclusion and helping people accomplish their goals and reach their dreams.

This two–year Ontario College diploma program is designed to provide the specialized skills required for professionals who make a difference every day in the lives of children, youth and adults who have disabilities as well as their support network at home, and in the community, (school, recreation, mental health and addictions, justice supports, employment support and more).

Students begin to specialize in person-centered, strength-based assessments and develop strategies for individuals, their families, and community inclusion through various community-based projects and field placements. Curriculum and field placements align with and exceed provincial and industry standards for the developmental services sector.

WORK EXPERIENCE
An essential component of your education will include experiential learning through course work as well as field placements. Three supervised field placements provide students with varied practical and networking experience where many students receive job offers. Students will also complete the last portion of their facilitation certificate by creating a Person-Directed Plan with a person they have built a relationship with throughout the program. Students will put theory into practice to help support and provide empowerment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Students also have the option of international placements in their fourth semester; however, this should be discussed with the program coordinator as early as possible (and prior to the end of semester 2) in order to assist in facilitating it.

The Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician program will introduce you to the field of heating, refrigeration and air conditioning with an emphasis on renewable, sustainable and alternative energy efficient solutions.

Our compressed three-semester program will prepare you for employment in this field:

• Our program has been specifically designed to address the changing employment and environmental needs of the industry.
• Our program provides you with theoretical and practical skills to install, service, maintain and update heating, refrigeration and air conditioning systems.

The program is divided into three terms.

• After successful completion of the provincial practical requirements at the end of term one, students can apply to write for Oil Burner Technician –Level 3 (OBT-3) and Gas Technician-Level 3 (G-3) certificates of qualification.
• After successful completion of the provincial practical requirements at the end of term three, students can apply to write for Oil Burner Technician –Level 2 (OBT-2) and Gas Technician-Level 2 (G-2) certificates of qualification.

Students are required to attend 80% of all classes in order to write their TSSA Gas and Oil exams.

Gas and Oil Technician –Level 3 (OBT-3 and G-3) deals with workplace safety, tools, characteristics of natural gas and oil, codes/regulations, basic electricity, technical specifications, customer relations, basic piping systems, and an introduction to gas and oil appliances.

Gas and Oil Technician –Level 2 (OBT-2 and G-2) focuses on advanced piping/tubing systems, electricity, controls, systems, appliances, gas meters, pressure regulators, gas and oil -fired refrigerators, conversion burners, water heaters, forced warm air heating systems, hydronic heating systems, space heating, venting practices, forced air add-on devices, and air handling.

Graduates of this program will have an opportunity to obtain industry related health and safety certifications. You will also have Grade 12 Math equivalency.

Program Highlights
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a two-semester Ontario College Graduate Certificate where students learn how to design and create software by embedding AI into applications that meet industry needs. Modern software design and AI frameworks, machine learning, and big data fundamentals are the basis of this program.

This program will be delivered in a hybrid format with online lectures and face-to-face computer labs where students will apply their knowledge and skills to applied projects. The program also includes applied research and applied learning experiences throughout the curriculum culminating in a second semester capstone project course.

Students will learn to obtain and analyze data sets in deep learning and machine learning applications, work collaboratively using principles of project management, and design and create software to fulfill industry project requirements. All work completed in the program will be in accordance with relevant legal statutes and ethical codes. Delivered at our campus in Peterborough, this is one of the few two-year Graphic Design advanced diploma programs offered in Ontario. In this intensive, compressed program, three years of study is completed over a two- year period. Graduates are ready to start their graphic design careers in just 24 months.

Students in Fleming’s accelerated graphic design program learn and work in a unique, contemporary design studio space; in this “classroom as design lab and studio,” they discover what it takes to become a professional designer, and how to thrive in this fast-paced industry.

Students gain the skills and understanding required to communicate ideas in digital and printed media through extensive and varied applied learning experiences. At the end of six continuous semesters, they are fully-prepared to hit the ground running, ready to launch their design careers in any industry that requires creative problem solving through visual communication.

Pharmacy technicians are an integral part of the health care team. They play an important role in the technical elements of prescription preparation and dispensing, and they collaborate with pharmacists and other health care professionals to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

• Pharmacy technicians work very closely with pharmacists to achieve optimal drug therapy outcomes for patients.
• A pharmacy technician's role requires them to focus on the technical aspect of the prescription, perform med reconciliation by collecting the best possible medication history from patients, perform product preparation and distribution functions as well as inventory control.
• As a registered pharmacy technician, graduates will participate in health promotion activities and provide education such as medical device training or coordination of health clinic days.
