This eight-month graduate certificate program focuses on the long-term economic, environmental and social value of sustainable business strategy.

This program is designed to meet the growing needs of professionals who can propose, measure and evaluate sustainability initiatives. You will learn to develop and implement economically viable, lean business strategies for existing organizations or pursue entrepreneurship in sustainability. As a student of this program, you will have access to our HELIX innovation incubator.

Skills
You will learn to measure and reduce carbon footprints, recommend lean business strategies and integrate sustainability initiatives and strategies within several projects.

Optional Work Term
Students meeting all academic requirements may have the opportunity to complete an optional work term(s) in a formal work environment. The work term(s) is similar in length to an academic semester and typically involves full-time work hours that may be paid or unpaid. In programs with limited work term opportunities, additional academic requirements and a passing grade on a communication assessment may be required for eligibility. Eligibility for participation does not guarantee a work position will be secured. Additional fees are required for those participating in the optional work term stream regardless of success in securing a work position.

This two-year diploma program prepares you for entry-level roles on the front line of the financial services industry.

You will learn fundamental business principles and practices that will allow you to provide financial advice related to day-to-day banking, credit and mutual fund investments. You will have the opportunity to complete industry-demanded courses that will open career opportunities in the investment and property and casualty insurance industries. In addition to the customer service training that you will receive as part of this program, you will choose further courses in one of four areas (emotional intelligence, business ethics, negotiation strategies, or intercultural behaviour and communication) to enhance your professional skills.

This 12-month graduate certificate program is a fast-track option for four-year degree graduates to pursue a career in accounting wishing to pursue the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) designation. You will study financial and management accounting, tax, information systems, audit, finance and economics focusing on analysis and interpretation of information and making sound ethical decisions.

You will be introduced to the modern technological environment of business using spreadsheets (Excel), database software (Access) and integrated database application technologies (ERP) through exposure to accounting software package(s). You will also gain industry exposure through research, case studies and projects.

You are eligible to enrol in this program with little or no knowledge of accounting. Upon graduation, you can choose to continue to complete an accounting degree such as Seneca's Accounting and Finance degree, or pursue your CPA professional designation (minimum grade requirements apply).

This exclusive two-year diploma program is designed to help you develop job-related skills and knowledge in an experiential learning setting preparing you to perform a variety of functions required by the airline industry.

New for 2021: Seneca has launched the Flights Experiential Hub at Newnham Campus. This state-of-the-art training centre is the first of its kind among Canadian postsecondary institutions. It includes a B737 cabin simulator, an A320 door simulator, a mock airline interior cabin, and an aircraft evacuation slide, all to provide you with real-life learning experiences. While many of the program's courses remain online, they are balanced with opportunities to study on-campus, using authentic airline safety and emergency equipment in semesters two, three and four.

Field Placement
As part of your program credit hours, you will complete 150 hours of field placement in the fourth semester. You will receive assistance from your professor, but it is your responsibility to confirm a placement upon successful completion of all third semester subjects before accepting a field placement position.

This four-year degree program will provide you with the fundamental principles of a well-rounded undergraduate education and a solid foundation in business management. Students learn strategic management concepts in a variety of business settings that include planning, organizing, leading and evaluating. They also learn how to apply business management techniques to areas such as finance, operations, human resources and marketing for-profit and non-profit businesses and organizations. Other study topics include business ethics, customer service, selling, presentation skills, global supply chain management, taxation and applied research methodology.

Mandatory Degree Co-op
Students must take part in a work experience that includes at least one term in a formal work environment. Students must be in good standing and meet all identified requirements prior to participating in the work experience. The successful completion of the co-op work term(s) is required for graduation. Eligibility for participation does not guarantee that a work position will be secured. This three-year advanced diploma program delivers relevant, current and in-demand skills and prepares you for a career in the growing area of Human Resources. Your studies will focus on topics such as recruiting, compensation, training, benefits, occupational health and safety, labour relations, leadership, motivational techniques and organizational behaviour. In addition, you will acquire skills in the effective use of industry-standard software. As a student, you will have the opportunity to interact directly with industry professionals and to participate in hands-on learning opportunities such as case competitions.

Field Placement
To support your learning, a field placement work experience must be completed. This experiential learning opportunity will provide you with the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills you learned in a financial planning setting, while also gaining valuable work experience.

This experience requires you to engage in a minimum of 140 hours of financial planning-related employment activities, either part time during your studies or full time at the end of the program. The field placement experience is an unpaid or paid position that is available to students who are in good academic standing with Seneca and who meet all identified requirements prior to participating in the field placement experience. While eligibility for participation does not guarantee that a field placement position will be secured, students are supported every step of the way by Seneca in locating, applying and obtaining a field placement experience with industry partners.

This three-year advanced program allows you to explore your creative potential as you learn in-depth design research, craftsmanship, and industry-oriented production skills for your profession in the fashion industry.

Field Placement
Field Placement is a valuable component of the Fashion Arts program and is a requirement for graduation.

In this four-year honours bachelor degree, you will learn the critical knowledge and practical skills required for a successful career in information security. You will develop comprehensive knowledge of vulnerability and threat assessment, risk management, data analysis and network and operating system infrastructure. This program focuses on practical applications that solve a variety of technological threats including hackers, malware and data breaches.
