This two-year professional program is designed to provide students with an extensive practical understanding and knowledge of business operations and processes. The emphasis is on interpersonal, communication, organizational, technical, and problem-solving skills applied to enhance the effective operation of the workplace.

Expert training in software applications, technical support, and training skills will be combined with analytical and multitasking strategies to facilitate scheduling, decision making, coordination and task completion. Utilizing these skills, students will be capable of overseeing projects and budgets; supervising and training others; organizing meetings, conferences and travel arrangements; managing a personal computer; and researching, developing, and presenting accurate business correspondence and reports.

This three-year Advanced Diploma in Cyber Security will provide students with the foundational Information Security (InfoSec) skills and knowledge necessary to be successful in the IT Security industry. Foundational topics will include information security, ethics, network management/analysis, programming and scripting, operating systems, and database management. Building on those foundational topics, the curriculum will also develop students’ skills in the areas of risk analysis, cryptography, vulnerability testing, access control implementation, and security audit performance. Graduates of this program will be able to proactively implement sound security practices to mitigate security risks and respond quickly to security breaches and issues that may have occurred.

Through hands-on laboratory activities, case study analyses, and research projects, students will enhance their Information Security understanding and develop their interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. This program will also include three co-operative education work placements to further enhance all of those skills.

Co-operative Education

This three year Building Renovation Technology Advanced Diploma program will prepare students to plan, implement, and lead building and renovation projects and equip them with the skills to manage the technical and business operations related to a range of building projects in the residential and light commercial sectors of the construction industry.  The program will address the changes in Ontario Building Code, introduced in January 2017, which dramatically increased the requirement for buildings to be sustainable and highly energy efficient.

Co-operative Education
This three year program has two co-operative education work terms.  Students can choose to participate in a four-month paid co-op term from May to August between years one and two of academic study.  The second work term is eight months and takes place May to December following the completion of the second year of academic study.

The Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Management) Degree program is designed to provide students with a well-rounded education in business management. The curriculum emphasizes that organizational success is achieved through effective leadership and is driven by people in all areas and departments within an organization. This four-year honours level degree includes a mandatory paid co-op work term between Levels 7 and 8 and is aligned with the Canadian Institute of Management professional program. Cross-functional courses combined with applications in sustainable business practices and effective ethical leadership from the local, national and global perspective will prepare graduates for a wide range of employment opportunities.

Automotive Sales is a one-year Ontario Graduate Certificate program. You’ll begin the program by creating a strong foundation in the fundamentals of technical sales and marketing, quickly moving into specialized training in new media marketing, CRM enabled selling, emerging transportation technologies, marketing management and more. This program is also an opportunity for further study for graduates of business programs and of motive power programs. It also provides a pathway to a post-graduate opportunity for journey-people with a Red Seal in a relevant trade.

This program emphasizes the dynamic role of the Doula within communities to prepare graduates for a rewarding career collaborating with health care teams to honour and advocate for expectant families throughout the full spectrum of their reproductive journey. The curriculum captures the specialized evidence-informed knowledge, skills, and experience relating to anatomy, physiology, and the emotional, physical, and cultural aspects of pregnancy and birth required by Doulas to provide families with information and support during pregnancy, childbirth, newborn care, and including loss. In addition, students are introduced to business management/entrepreneurship concepts and strategies, including business ethics, contracts, marketing and sales techniques, and personal financial management.

• Assist with the delivery of family-centred maternity care in collaboration with members of the health care team.
• Examine the historical, political, and cultural aspects of the provision of maternity care both locally and globally and identify how they shape the experiences of contemporary mothering to meet the needs of clients.
• Apply knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of a woman during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum to address the concerns and needs of clients.
•  Provide evidence-informed physical, emotional, physiological, and psychosexual support to enhance the comfort, health, and well-being of individuals and families as they negotiate the various transitions associated with pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
• Provide families with community and online resources related to the childbearing years to empower clients to make evidence-informed choices regarding pregnancy and birth options and newborn care, including infant and newborn nutrition.
• Describe diagnostic testing procedures and medical interventions routinely used during pregnancy, labour, birth, and the postpartum period, and recognize the normal ranges and parameters for those test results.
• Identify early signs of maternal physical and mental health concerns, and refer clients to appropriate community resources in a timely manner.
• Foster professional relationships with clients, family members, caregivers, and other doulas.
• Establish and maintain a professional doula business in accordance with professional, legal, and ethical guidelines.

This graduate certificate program is designed to prepare students to teach English as a Second (or Foreign) Language in Canada and/or overseas.  The program covers topics integrating theoretical, pedagogical, and practical applications for teaching English as a second or foreign language, meeting educational standards set by TESL Ontario.  Additionally, this program includes courses to enhance professional and intercultural communication skills, knowledge, and experience.

Construction Engineering Technology is a two-year diploma for students interested in overseeing the construction of residential, industrial and commercial projects. Students will learn to estimate project costs, develop a construction plan, schedule projects, and perform on-site inspections using the latest technology. Graduates will be prepared for their career by learning soft skills required to be an effective leader.

International Business Management is a one-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate program, completed in two four-month levels (laptop required). Students will develop the skills to effectively investigate, analyze, manage and direct most aspects of international trade. Students work with real businesses, helping small and medium exporters capitalize on global opportunities, as preparation for various careers in the ever-expanding global economy. Professors have relevant and practical expertise in international trade, investment, marketing, finance and business management. Graduates will receive an Ontario College Graduate Certificate in International Business Management and, upon meeting Forum for International Trade Training (FITT) criteria on two major projects sent for external grading and transfer of credits to FITT, a Diploma in International Trade from FITT will be issued. Graduates who complete the required work experience in international business and meet other FITT criteria can subsequently apply to receive the Certified International Trade Professional designation (CITP).

Business is a two-year Ontario College Diploma program. This program is designed for students with an interest in all aspects of business. Students gain an understanding of all various business areas including accounting, finance, marketing, human resources, supply chain management, small business, and project management. Ethical and sustainable business practices are considered, and students are encouraged to explore individual areas of business that are of greater interest.    Students are given a wide exposure to business that meets the needs of those who desire a career in business management whether in a large organization or a family business.  Students can also earn education credits toward the Certified in Management (CIM) designation from the Canadian Institute of Management. Graduates who meet admission requirements are eligible for transfer to the Business Administration - Leadership and Management Advanced Diploma or the Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Management) Degree program.
