The Aviation Technology - Aircraft Maintenance and Avionics Advanced Diploma is a Transport Canada approved program (TC-2018-02-4248) that provides students with the knowledge and skills required to start a career in aircraft maintenance and/or aircraft avionics maintenance. This program will cover all aspects of aircraft maintenance including systems used in general aviation, corporate, and charter transport category aircraft as well as helicopters. The program will also include avionics training for service, repair, and maintenance of aircraft electrical and electronic systems such as communication, navigation, and data systems.

Learning Outcomes
The graduate has reliably demonstrated the ability to

• Service, test, troubleshoot and repair aircraft and systems on large or small, fixed or rotary wing aircraft in accordance with manufacturers' specified instructions, accepted aviation techniques/practices and the requirements of the Canadian aviation regulations.
• Evaluate fixed wing and rotary aircraft structures and complete maintenance, assembly, fabrication, and structural repair work on large and small aircrafts in accordance with technical manuals, standard practices, and standards of performance and safety.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections on aircraft structural, operational, environmental, communication, navigation, surveillance, and flight guidance systems to ensure they are in proper working order and meet standards of performance and safety.
• Remove, install, and configure airframe and avionics parts, components, and line replaceable units as part of unscheduled maintenance and out-of-phase tasks.
• Remove, install, and configure the aircraft power plant and accessories on both turbine and piston engines.
• Remove, install, configure, test, and evaluate function and operation of instrument, communication, navigation, surveillance, and flight guidance systems.
• Diagnose malfunctions and defects in aircraft systems, avionics systems, and related components using technical manuals, drawings, wiring diagrams, engineering orders, and standards of performance and safety.
• Evaluate component wear and fatigue using appropriate measuring devices to determine necessary repair or replacement tasks in order to maintain the aircraft's airworthiness and safety.
• Complete airworthiness directives, manufacturers' service bulletin, and engineering modification tasks on aircraft systems, avionics systems, and structures.
• Dismantle and reassemble airframes, aircraft engines, and electrical and electronic systems for repair and overhaul.
• Interpret written instructions, schematics, manufacturers' specifications, technical drawings, manuals, and computer-based information while performing routine and unscheduled tasks.
• Maintain detailed inspection, repair, maintenance, and certification records and reports to meet industry regulations and logbook requirements.
• Perform all work in accordance with health and safety regulations, manufacturers' specifications, and Transport Canada guidelines.
• Evaluate, modify and implement quality control and quality assurance procedures to meet organizational standards and requirements.

This program, as the name implies, shall give Engineering students a one-year, intensive training in the practical elements associated with their profession, such as CAD, Blueprint Reading, Machining and Welding.  The program has been created to complement the theoretical skills that they presently obtain in their formal studies.

Construction Engineering Technology is a two-year diploma for students interested in overseeing the construction of residential, industrial and commercial projects. Students will learn to estimate project costs, develop a construction plan, schedule projects, and perform on-site inspections using the latest technology. Graduates will be prepared for their career by learning soft skills required to be an effective leader.

The Developmental Services Worker (Fast Track) Diploma program prepares its graduates to support people with developmental disabilities so that these individuals may participate fully in their communities. DSW have the specialized knowledge and skills required to work with people with developmental disabilities across the life span.

Inherent to the role of a DSW is an ability to collaborate and build relationships with people with developmental disabilities and their families and to work with colleagues and members of inter-professional teams to facilitate a seamless network of support for people.
Courses focus on disabilities, person-directed support, inclusion and community resources, dual diagnosis, interpersonal skills, counseling, health, pharmacology, development, teaching, and intervention strategies. Field placements in community agencies and/or schools are part of the curriculum.

This two-year diploma in accounting is designed to prepare graduates to work in an accounting environment at the entry or intermediate accounting level. This accounting diploma program starts with accounting fundamentals and then moves to detailed accounting principles and concepts, including computerized accounting. Insurance and Risk Management is a one-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate program designed for university and college graduates looking for a career in the property and casualty insurance industry. This program will allow students to earn credits towards the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation from the Insurance Institute of Canada.

The Pre-Media program is a one-year foundational certificate program designed to introduce the student to various media industries. This preliminary year is intended to provide the student with the opportunity to sample from and discover the various aspects unique to each media program within the School of Contemporary Media. This will allow the student to gain a solid understanding in preparation for a more focused education within a specific media field. The program will offer a hands-on experience using industry standard software taught by creative educators and industry professionals.

Successful graduates of this program will have developed a solid foundation in the skills and knowledge of various media and communication fields. The goal is to give the student the tools to make a more educated and conscious choice for a career program best suited to reflect their interest and skillset.

The Customer Relationship Marketing and Sales Management program responds to the growing need within business for a skill set that places the customer at the centre of business decisions. This skill is critical since marketing and sales success depends on attracting new customers while retaining and strengthening relationships with current customers.  

This one-year post-graduate certificate program provides students with a foundation in marketing and sales, with a focus on the examination and application of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Customer Experience (CX) best practices, strategies, tactics, tools, and techniques. Students will have an opportunity to apply industry standard business and marketing analytics and use CRM platforms to enhance the marketing and sales process.  Student will also learn strategies and tactics for account development in the field of sales and sales management.

The Design Foundations Certificate program is for students who are interested in exploring a career in design. This foundation year introduces students to the fundamentals of 2D and 3D design principles, drawing and colour theory, idea development, research, presentation skills, portfolio development, design technologies, and communication skills. Students experience a year of goal-setting, learning new skills and refining existing skills with the guidance from industry experts through a variety of hands-on projects.

Graduates can use their portfolio and refined skills to move towards a career or pursue further studies in Interior Decorating, Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, Graphic Design, GIS and Urban Planning, Landscape Design, Horticulture Technician and Theatre Arts - Technical Production.

This program emphasizes the dynamic role of the Doula within communities to prepare graduates for a rewarding career collaborating with health care teams to honour and advocate for expectant families throughout the full spectrum of their reproductive journey. The curriculum captures the specialized evidence-informed knowledge, skills, and experience relating to anatomy, physiology, and the emotional, physical, and cultural aspects of pregnancy and birth required by Doulas to provide families with information and support during pregnancy, childbirth, newborn care, and including loss. In addition, students are introduced to business management/entrepreneurship concepts and strategies, including business ethics, contracts, marketing and sales techniques, and personal financial management.

• Assist with the delivery of family-centred maternity care in collaboration with members of the health care team.
• Examine the historical, political, and cultural aspects of the provision of maternity care both locally and globally and identify how they shape the experiences of contemporary mothering to meet the needs of clients.
• Apply knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of a woman during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum to address the concerns and needs of clients.
•  Provide evidence-informed physical, emotional, physiological, and psychosexual support to enhance the comfort, health, and well-being of individuals and families as they negotiate the various transitions associated with pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
• Provide families with community and online resources related to the childbearing years to empower clients to make evidence-informed choices regarding pregnancy and birth options and newborn care, including infant and newborn nutrition.
• Describe diagnostic testing procedures and medical interventions routinely used during pregnancy, labour, birth, and the postpartum period, and recognize the normal ranges and parameters for those test results.
• Identify early signs of maternal physical and mental health concerns, and refer clients to appropriate community resources in a timely manner.
• Foster professional relationships with clients, family members, caregivers, and other doulas.
• Establish and maintain a professional doula business in accordance with professional, legal, and ethical guidelines.
• Identify and support clients’ needs based on the theories of diverse social determinants of health, cultural humility, and intersectionality and the principle of harm reduction.
