The Customer Relationship Marketing and Sales Management program responds to the growing need within business for a skill set that places the customer at the centre of business decisions. This skill is critical since marketing and sales success depends on attracting new customers while retaining and strengthening relationships with current customers.  

This one-year post-graduate certificate program provides students with a foundation in marketing and sales, with a focus on the examination and application of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Customer Experience (CX) best practices, strategies, tactics, tools, and techniques. Students will have an opportunity to apply industry standard business and marketing analytics and use CRM platforms to enhance the marketing and sales process.  Student will also learn strategies and tactics for account development in the field of sales and sales management.

In today’s increasingly digitally-connected and knowledge-based economy, communication skills are crucial for professional success across a wide array of sectors. Advanced Communication for Professionals is an Ontario College Graduate Certificate program that supports learners and professionals in further developing their written, verbal and interpersonal skills.  Canadian employers are increasingly emphasizing the importance of these skills for hiring and promotion; this program therefore cultivates excellence in workplace communication, interpersonal communication, writing and reports, and project development. Graduates will enjoy enhanced employability and advancement potential.

This program will provide students with opportunities to expand and strengthen their fundamental understanding of the science of ergonomics. Both in the lab and in the classroom, students will learn to use analytical tools for quantitative and qualitative assessments of employees’ job related tasks in the workplace. Current technologies and techniques will be examined in addition to application of theoretical principles to worker-workspace interactions. Additional topics of study include: the legislative and regulatory environment, the role of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, and the financial impacts of injury.

Business (Co-op) is a two-year Ontario College Diploma program. This program is designed for students with an interest in all aspects of business. Students gain an understanding of all various business areas including accounting, finance, marketing, human resources, supply chain management, small business, and project management. Ethical and sustainable business practices are considered, and students are encouraged to explore individual areas of business that are of greater interest.    Students are given a wide exposure to business that meets the needs of those who desire a career in business management whether in a large organization or a family business.  Students can also earn education credits toward the Certified in Management (CIM) designation from the Canadian Institute of Management. Graduates who meet admission requirements are eligible for transfer to the Business Administration - Leadership and Management Advanced Diploma or the Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Management) Degree program.

Co-operative Education
In order to be eligible for co-op, students must maintain a 2.5 GPA and be academically complete at the commencement of their co-op work term.

This three-year program provides students with a strong basic knowledge of Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Biology with focus on the concepts of air, water and waste water management. In particular, the program emphasizes in-depth training in the principles and procedures of measurement and analysis techniques, and legislation for air, water and waste.

This program emphasizes the dynamic role of the Doula within communities to prepare graduates for a rewarding career collaborating with health care teams to honour and advocate for expectant families throughout the full spectrum of their reproductive journey. The curriculum captures the specialized evidence-informed knowledge, skills, and experience relating to anatomy, physiology, and the emotional, physical, and cultural aspects of pregnancy and birth required by Doulas to provide families with information and support during pregnancy, childbirth, newborn care, and including loss. In addition, students are introduced to business management/entrepreneurship concepts and strategies, including business ethics, contracts, marketing and sales techniques, and personal financial management.

Learning Outcomes

• Assist with the delivery of family-centred maternity care in collaboration with members of the health care team.
• Examine the historical, political, and cultural aspects of the provision of maternity care both locally and globally and identify how they shape the experiences of contemporary mothering to meet the needs of clients.
• Apply knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of a woman during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum to address the concerns and needs of clients.
•  Provide evidence-informed physical, emotional, physiological, and psychosexual support to enhance the comfort, health, and well-being of individuals and families as they negotiate the various transitions associated with pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
• Provide families with community and online resources related to the childbearing years to empower clients to make evidence-informed choices regarding pregnancy and birth options and newborn care, including infant and newborn nutrition.
• Describe diagnostic testing procedures and medical interventions routinely used during pregnancy, labour, birth, and the postpartum period, and recognize the normal ranges and parameters for those test results.
• Identify early signs of maternal physical and mental health concerns, and refer clients to appropriate community resources in a timely manner.
• Foster professional relationships with clients, family members, caregivers, and other doulas.
• Establish and maintain a professional doula business in accordance with professional, legal, and ethical guidelines.
• Identify and support clients’ needs based on the theories of diverse social determinants of health, cultural humility, and intersectionality and the principle of harm reduction.

This two-year Ontario College Diploma program provides the skills necessary for students wishing to enter the workforce in the live entertainment industry. Through both practical application and classroom theory, students will develop skills using the technologies of theatre production, with emphasis on lighting, sound, video and properties. To enhance these skills the students will also learn a range of disciplines including, networks, properties, scenic painting, rigging, special effects, design communications, theatre and art history and project management.

The Broadcasting - Radio program is a highly concentrated hands-on approach to training students for careers in radio broadcasting and emerging broadcast media.  Students operate four broadcast properties in Fanshawe College's School of Contemporary Media building, which is equipped with the latest in broadcast technology.  CIXX-FM (106.9) is Canada's first licensed instructional radio station at full power FM utilizing the latest digital control rooms and production equipment. Areas of study include: On-Air Performance, Creative Writing, Audio and Commercial Production, Sales/Marketing/Promotions, Music and Programming and Web and Social Media content development.  Listen live to students perform on 106.9 CIXX-FM, The X at www.1069thex.com, The Falcon at www.thefalcon.ca, CFRL Radio at www.cfrlradio.ca, and Stellar Radio, live video and audio at livestream.com/stellar_radio.  Broadcasting - Radio students learn in a live on-air environment while performing on-air and various job functions identical to those in the Broadcast industry

The Aviation Technology Aircraft Maintenance and Avionics (Co-op) Advanced Diploma is a Transport Canada approved program (TC-2018-02-4248) that provides students with the knowledge and skills required to start a career in aircraft maintenance and/or  avionics maintenance. This program will cover all aspects of aircraft maintenance including systems used in general aviation, corporate, and charter transport category aircraft as well as helicopters. The program will also include avionics training for service, repair, and maintenance of aircraft electrical and electronic systems such as communication, navigation, and data systems.

Learning Outcomes
The graduate has reliably demonstrated the ability to

• Service, test, troubleshoot and repair aircraft and systems on large or small, fixed or rotary wing aircraft in accordance with manufacturers' specified instructions, accepted aviation techniques/practices and the requirements of the Canadian aviation regulations.
• Evaluate fixed wing and rotary aircraft structures and complete maintenance, assembly, fabrication, and structural repair work on large and small aircrafts in accordance with technical manuals, standard practices, and standards of performance and safety.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections on aircraft structural, operational, environmental, communication, navigation, surveillance, and flight guidance systems to ensure they are in proper working order and meet standards of performance and safety.
• Remove, install, and configure airframe and avionics parts, components, and line replaceable units as part of unscheduled maintenance and out-of-phase tasks.
• Remove, install, and configure the aircraft power plant and accessories on both turbine and piston engines.
• Remove, install, configure, test, and evaluate function and operation of instrument, communication, navigation, surveillance, and flight guidance systems.
• Diagnose malfunctions and defects in aircraft systems, avionics systems, and related components using technical manuals, drawings, wiring diagrams, engineering orders, and standards of performance and safety.
• Evaluate component wear and fatigue using appropriate measuring devices to determine necessary repair or replacement tasks in order to maintain the aircraft's airworthiness and safety.
• Complete airworthiness directives, manufacturers' service bulletin, and engineering modification tasks on aircraft systems, avionics systems, and structures.
• Dismantle and reassemble airframes, aircraft engines, and electrical and electronic systems for repair and overhaul.
• Interpret written instructions, schematics, manufacturers' specifications, technical drawings, manuals, and computer-based information while performing routine and unscheduled tasks.
• Maintain detailed inspection, repair, maintenance, and certification records and reports to meet industry regulations and logbook requirements.
• Perform all work in accordance with health and safety regulations, manufacturers' specifications, and Transport Canada guidelines.
• Evaluate, modify and implement quality control and quality assurance procedures to meet organizational standards and requirements.

The Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees program provides students with the opportunity to study subject areas relevant to health career programs at Fanshawe College and to instill an appreciation of the professional roles, responsibilities and academic requirements of health care disciplines. The goal of the program is to prepare students for their chosen health career program.
