The Visual Effects and Editing for Contemporary Media program is an Ontario College Graduate Certificate program designed to prepare creative and disciplined students for a career in the Post Production industry. The program focuses on professional techniques, terminology and software used for video and audio editing, motion graphics, 3D animation, compositing and Visual FX. The Interactive Media Development - 3D Visualization Program at Fanshawe College is an intensive three-year advanced diploma focusing on the tools and techniques necessary to gain employment in the fields of visualization and emerging interactive technologies. The goal of the program is to provide students with the professional, technical and artistic skills necessary to create innovative visualizations, prototypes and info-graphics.

Students will develop 2 and 3 dimensional design skills by studying a curriculum focused initially on the core principles of visualization technologies and interactive media. Foundation courses including image and motion design, interactive production, project management, and visual communication will provide the basis for understanding sophisticated technologies such as virtual and augmented reality.

Throughout the second year, students will study more advanced concepts of visualization including 3D modeling, game engine simulations, visualization statistics, generative art and user experience design. In the third year, students will continue with advanced visualization studies with emphasis on an integrative capstone project (individual or group) or a client based applied research project internship.

An integral part of the 3D Visualization program at Fanshawe College is its relationship to the local community. London, ON has a vibrant and growing interactive media industry. Professionals from this community include business leaders and entrepreneurs, creative directors, interactive designers, programmers, game designers, and producers who will play an important role by providing mentorship to students through critique and guest lectures.

Business - Human Resources is a two-year Ontario College Diploma program. Students learn business basics such as accounting, communications, and computer applications, then focus on HR subjects such as training and development, recruitment, compensation, benefits, employment law and occupational health and safety.  In addition, students have the opportunity to achieve six of the nine Certified Human Resources Professional/Leader (CHRP/CHRL) credits. In their final semester, in class students have the opportunity to participate in a mentorship with an HR professional to experience first-hand the HR workplace environment. Graduates are in demand for HR generalist  jobs as well as in recruiting, compensation and benefits, training and development and health and safety. Graduates who meet admission requirements are eligible for transfer to the Business Administration - Human Resources Advanced Diploma program where they will have the opportunity to achieve the balance of the CHRP/CHRL credits (three additional credits).

The Network and Security Architecture Graduate Certificate program will cover the key aspects of designing, deploying, supporting, and securing small, medium, and enterprise network and server infrastructures. It will cover the fundamentals of advanced networking and security concepts to work in almost any situation and meet the security challenges that are presented.

Co-operative Education
In order to be eligible for co-op, students must achieve and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA and be academically complete at the commencement of their co-op work term (Fall intake; completed all courses and Winter intake; completed all first semester courses) prior to the commencement of their co-op work term.  The co-op work term will always be the summer semester regardless of whether the student is in the Fall or Winter intake.

Students who do not achieve a 2.5 GPA or above will not be eligible for co-op and if for any other reason they do not obtain a co-op placement they can still graduate provided they achieve a 2.0 GPA or above but will not receive the Co-op Endorsed Certificate. The Advanced Filmmaking program is an Ontario College Graduate Certificate program which builds upon the students previous diploma/degree skills by providing opportunities to work in cross-functional teams to create both narrative and documentary films, television productions, and other media. All phases of digital filmmaking will be experienced, including pre-production, production, and post-production. Students will collaborate with students in other College programs (television, acting, fashion, multimedia, music industry arts) in the creation of digital media products.

The Motive Power Technician (Automotive) Diploma program is a two-year Ontario College Diploma program. The program is designed to develop graduates with essential advanced technical, organizational, interpersonal, administrative and managerial skills required for the automotive service industry as well as providing progressive and comprehensive learning experiences on internal combustion spark ignition engines, power trains and related modern vehicle systems. Students will learn to communicate effectively, diagnose and solve problems logically and to undertake responsible work tasks with a minimum of supervision.

Graduates may also be in a favourable status if they wish to apply for our alternative Motive Power Technician (Diesel) Diploma program. Credit for those courses that bridge our diploma programs will be granted; therefore, significantly reducing the requirements for this second Ontario College Diploma.
